Dr. Wickman to Retire January 1
Our Principal, Dr. Karl Wickman has formally announced his retirement from Harford County Public Schools effective January 1. Dr. Wickman retires after 28 years with HCPS and has worked as a teacher and administrator in the Havre De Grace, Southampton, Patterson Mill and North Harford Communities.
We are proud to announce that Ms. Laura Silk our current 6th Grade Assistant Principal will assume the role of Principal of Bel Air Middle School effective January 2. Ms. Silk has been an administrator in HCPS for the past 15 years and has served the Bel Air, Edgewood and Magnolia communities.
We are in the process of finalizing a decision on the hire of a new Assistant Principal and will announce that appointment as soon as possible.
The BAMS Community would like to wish Dr. Wickman the best of luck in his retirement and Ms. Silk the best of luck as she assumes the role of Principal.
