CV PFSO Newsletter
Stay "in the know" with the PFSO!
WELCOME
Please Follow Along!
Our heartfelt thanks to those Viking Families who joined the CV PFSO at Registration or Back to School Night. It's never too late to join, so let your friends know that the PFSO is a great resource for CV Families!
Our newsletter will be linked in Principal Jones' weekly email under the PFSO section. You will find the latest information and opportunities right here, posted on our Instagram and Facebook accounts, and, as always, updated on our website.
Your kindness makes a difference in the day-to-day life of the staff at CV and we appreciate your generosity more than you know! 💚
LCAP Surveys are live!
It's time for the annual LCAP Survey! Make your voice heard. Your feedback truly makes a difference, so please take the time to let the district know your priorities for our school site.
Pro Tip: Fill it out once for each school you have a student attending. For example, if you have students at Serrano Elementary, Cerro Villa Middle School, and Villa Park High School, you will complete the survey three separate times, focusing on one school at a time.
Homework Help
Here are the current Homework Help hours as posted in Principal Jones' weekly email.
Another fantastic resource for free homework assistance is Paper Tutoring, available online 24/7, right on your student's MY OUSD dashboard!
MEMBERSHIP
Thank you for joining the CV PFSO!
The Cerro Villa Parent Faculty Student Organization (PFSO) is a non-profit organization that assists the faculty and staff in enhancing the education experiences of our children. The PFSO assists with many programs around the school, including the CV Student Store, student dances, Student of the Month and Honor Society celebrations, Career Day, the 8th Grade Promotion Party, staff appreciation events, teacher grants, and so much more. Without your support, these events would not be possible!
Your $10 annual membership donation directly benefits CV students, teachers, and staff.
Your donation supports the ongoing work of the CV PFSO and is not an obligation to volunteer.
Those interested in volunteering can find out more in our Volunteer section below.

VOLUNTEERS APPRECIATED 💛
PFSO Members may volunteer on-campus if they complete their OUSD Volunteer Application and required Keenan SafeSchools certifications. Pro tip: you will not need approval for more than 5 hours per week, the under 5 bracket will be enough. The training resets in July and needs to be completed every school year. If you have completed this screening for another OUSD school site this year, please let the CV office know. Thank you so much for your time & cooperation!
Examples of CV PFSO Volunteer Opportunities include dance chaperone, field trip chaperone, Student Store volunteer, library volunteer, etc.
Note: If you have issues accessing your Keenan SafeSchools account, please contact the school you plan to volunteer with for further guidance.
Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities:
- We have an ongoing need for adult helpers in the CV Student Store - Sign-Up Link
Please Note: Your OUSD Volunteer clearance must be completed and processed to volunteer on-campus with students. Please factor this time into your volunteer plans. Thank you!
No time to Volunteer?
We know life is busy and not all families are not able to participate in this way. If you are able to give financially, that is another fantastic way you can be a part of the PFSO's work and there are links to donate on our website.
If you are unable to volunteer OR donate at this time, we completely understand. You are still a valued and important part of the CV community and we are so pleased that we can support your student during their time at CV. It takes a village! 💛
CV Student Store
A great way to support CV & its students is by donating to our Student Store! CV Students earn points for positive behavior that they can then spend in our CV Student Store on snacks and goods. We have everything from Takis and Skittles to Funko POPs and Stanley water bottles!
Students love earning points and spending them, and teachers love the impact the system has had on campus culture. So keeping the Student Store well-stocked is an ongoing need.
Please feel free to donate from our Amazon Wish List or grab items when you're out on your own shopping trip. Full-size candy, chips, and drinks are always the first to go! Thank you for your consideration & support!
SPONSORS
Tell your family, friends, and neighbors - CV loves Sponsors! 💛
