DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME - SPRING AHEAD ONE HOUR
Principal's Message
Hello McPherson Families,
Thank you to everyone who has participated in our Education Foundation's STAR Mission Fundraiser! We are on track to meeting our goal and the fundraiser will culminate in fun events at our annual STEAM night on Thursday, March 21. As a reminder, the funds raised through STAR Mission go towards supporting McPherson's STEM magnet focus.
Please see the newsletter for more information on opportunities for overnight field trip fundraising, Pi Day, and PTSA events.
Have a great week Meteors,
Dr. Godsey
Principal
Message from Assistant Principal
Spring is coming which means warmer weather. Just a reminder that students need to wear their McPherson uniform every day. We have had many free dress days and rainy weather so I know some students are out of the habit.
School Designated uniform Logo Tops may be purchased at our Logowear vendor Kustom Imprints. You may also purchase a plain SOLID gray, light blue, or navy polo shirt from a uniform store or department. If purchasing from any store other than Kustom Imprints, the polo shirts must be plain with NO logos. School Designated uniform bottoms should be purchased at a uniform store or uniform department, such as Kustom Imprints, Dennis Uniform, J.J. Fashions, Target, Wal-Mart, etc.
All Fridays are designated as “School Spirit Shirt” days. Any McPherson team, activity, or spirit shirt may be worn at this time. Students who participate in a nationally recognized youth organization shall be allowed to wear organization uniforms on days when the organization has scheduled meetings. (Ed Code 35183). (See Uniform Guidelines and Policies on the McPherson Webpage under “Uniforms”)
The first Wednesday of each month is designated as “College Shirt/Sweatshirt” day.
We look forward to seeing our McPherson Meteors wearing their proper uniforms.
Family Dinner Night Fundraiser - Miguels Jr on Wednesday, March 13
The team at Miguel’s Jr. is proud to host a Community Support Event to benefit McPherson Magnet School on Wednesday, March 13. Please join us during breakfast, lunch or dinner for legendary food, fun and fundraising. Miguel’s Jr. will donate 20% of your pre-tax food and beverage purchase to benefit
Supporters must mention your organization when ordering to be counted for the event.
Spring See's Candy Sale: March 10-13.
We have a short and sweet opportunity for everyone to earn funds for our school. Families with students in grades 3-8 can use the funds earned for overnight field trips.
This spring sale is online only, through See's Candies Yum-Raising program, participants will receive an email from "emily lawrence <invite@yumraising.com>" with the subject of "McPherson Magnet School See's Candies Yum-Raising Invitation." The link in the body of the email is a personal link with a QRI code for your child. Simply share this link with family and friends to ask for their support by purchasing candy, and a portion of the proceeds (15-50%, depending on the item) will be credited to your child's individual account at the conclusion of the sale.
To opt in for the invitation, please fill out this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdVfv18F0Lth1CigBCbQj-oR6Q74tJUgLJ7CSvWmk9IUxRrGg/viewform?usp=sf_link
If you have opted in in the past, you will automatically receive an Invitation.
Once you have completed the form, Our Parent Volunteer will enter your contact information for your personalized link. Please note that this is a manual process and may not happen immediately.
This is a really easy fundraiser. All you have to do is forward the link and/or QR code to your families and friends and ask for their support by purchasing See's candy or chocolates. The orders will be shipped directly to them for a small shipping fee (free shipping for orders of $70 or more).

Pi Day - 3-14-24
March 14 is Pi Day - to celebrate Pi Day, students will be bringing home a special Pi Day Treat.
What is Pi, Something to Eat or a Tricky Math Thing?
The number π is a mathematical constant. Originally defined as the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, it now has various equivalent definitions and appears in many formulas in all areas of mathematics and physics. It is approximately equal to 3.14159. It has been represented by the Greek letter "π" since the mid-18th century. Being an irrational number, π cannot be expressed exactly as a common fraction.
