Cheetah Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful and restful three-day weekend! April is here, and with it comes a berry busy month ahead! 🍓

This past Saturday, I attended the Career Fair and had the opportunity to connect with some truly amazing candidates. I’ve already scheduled interviews with all of them and am eager to showcase our incredible school, our campus initiatives, and the strong culture we’ve built together. Hiring will be a key focus in the coming weeks, as I work diligently to fill our Assistant Principal position and teacher vacancies with the best possible candidates.

In addition to hiring, we are gearing up for STAAR test prep and administration, as well as a smooth Early Learning Day and registration process for all prospective families. It’s crucial that we fill up our classrooms as quickly as possible, and one big push we need is to raise awareness about our PK3 program—both AM & PM sessions—for next year. Your support in spreading the word will go a long way in ensuring strong enrollment.

We are Sunset Valley Cheetahs—fast, focused, and fierce! 🐆 Let’s tackle this busy month together and keep moving toward a successful new school year!

Our Literacy Caregiver Session was a fantastic event! We facilitated over 8 engaging literacy-building activitiesdesigned to strengthen foundational skills and comprehension. With over 20 SVE caregivers in attendance, we had the opportunity to dive deep into meaningful learning strategies.

Thank you for partnering with us to support learning at home and engaging your children in fun, skill-building activities! Together, we can do more! 💙🐆

The Cheetah Fest carnival and silent auction is Sunset Valley Elementary's primary fundraiser. This allows the PTA to provide financial support to teachers, staff and students. And it's a fun community event! Entry is free; tickets or wristbands are required for games and activities. Preorder wristbands and concessions now at cheetah-fest.com.

Volunteer opportunity: The PTA runs this in-house, and that takes a lot of effort. But if more of the community can sign up to help run an activity for an hour, it's not so much work. There are many spots to fill in supervising the inflatable slides, laser tag, ticket sales, and others. Older kids can help at many stations as well.
