Hello from your SHS Social Workers!

School Social Workers are here to help untangle the bunches of things that keep students from being their best selves at school and in life. Many of these are life circumstances impacting their world and for most, they have little control over.

We show up daily to meet you, listen to your voice and assist you with your goals to be a better student and graduate, rise and thrive as an important human in our world. We embrace all our students with respect, honoring culture, gender and all facets of your individuality. Our offices are safe, affirming and confidential. All students are welcome!

Our commitment is to remind you that "your peeps run deep". That you have a whole team of people behind you to help you succeed and thrive. This is priority #1. And what matters most is you feel connected, heard and safe. The list of your peeps here is to make you aware of all the potential people who are in line to shine love your way to make sure your voice is heard, and your needs are met: Social Workers, School Counselors, Restorative Advocates, Teachers, Administrators, Health office team, Program and SpEd support staff, and others. We all stand beside you, advocating and promoting your original genius to be seen and heard...for today and your future dreams. We work collaboratively with and for you!

We are available to connect with your people in the community (county, agency, therapists, treatment, etc.) towards you having the best, easeful experience in high school. This includes tending concerns about basic needs such as food, clothing and housing issues.

It's our intention to make sure you have the support, resources, advocacy, services, accommodations necessary for you to be a stellar student and be part of a learning community that cares about each individual and their contribution to the whole community.
