Notes from Mr. Branham
Hello, Knight Families!
Please be reminded that student attendance is critical for the success of your student. We encourage our students to be in attendance unless they are sick with a fever or have an official excuse such as bereavement or court. Please contact us if you have any questions about attendance at 803-432-9858.
As a reminder, early validation will continue this week Monday- Thursday after school from 3:15-4:45 in the cafeteria. The cost is $10 per session. Students can pay after they attend if needed. Cell phones are not allowed during validation, and students should bring classwork/homework to complete.
As always, our Knights have Purpose and are Engaged, Empowered, and Equipped for the future!

Students will the following entries for their EOC grades:
A = 4 entries
B = 3 entries
C = 2 entries
D = 1 entry
Students will be given the number of entries based on their scores for each exam. For example, if a student is enrolled in Biology and makes a "B" on the EOC, they will be entered in the drawing 3 times. FFA
33 members of the North Central FFA chapter got to attend FFA Day at the South Carolina State Fair! Members first dropped off some animal feed donations to the SC FFA Alumni and Supporters trailer to be donated for Hurricane Helene Relief. All members then attended the opening ceremonies with other FFA members from around the state! Members were then tasked to complete a scavenger hunt to explore the agricultural aspects that are at the state fair! Members enjoyed meeting advisors, other members, riding rides, eating fair food, exploring the buildings, and of course seeing the agricultural displays! There were two youth competitions happening while our members were present, the lower state tractor driving CDE and the youth swine showmanship classes. This was a great opportunity for the North Central FFA to explore opportunities that they can be a part of in the future!
State Fair Winner!

Media Center Minutes
Hello from the library!
This year, Mrs. Ferrer is hosting a monthly reading challenge to boost the reading culture of our school. Each month there will be a new theme. Students and staff are encouraged to participate. Once you have completed your book for the month, you will be interviewed by Mrs. Ferrer or Mr. Huggins about the book to show that you have read it. You will receive a challenge button and a bookmark as a reward for completing the monthly challenge, and you will be entered into a drawing for a monthly prize.
October's theme is "Monster Mayhem"; you will need to read a book with a monster (real or imagined) to complete the challenge. If you need book recommendations, please stop by the library.
Happy Reading!
BRAVE cards are designed to positively reinforce wanted behaviors in students. A teacher will recognize a student for being respectful, aware, vested and empowered by handing the student a BRAVE card with the teacher's signature on the back. The student will take the card to the front office and place it in the gold hand spinner. Each week, a card will be drawn at random and that student will receive a prize.
Congrats to our September winners!!!
