Hillside News Brief-Special Edition

Art to Remember items ordered have been shipped. Community Club wants to make sure to get you your item(s) promptly.

Pick-up days and times:

Wednesday, June 17th: 8:30am – 12:30pm

Thursday, June 18th: 4:00pm – 8:00pm

Friday, June 26th: 10:00am - 1:00pm

If you are unable to collect your items during these times, please email d66hillside@gmail.com to make other pick-up arrangements.

Community Club volunteers will be in the Hillside parking lot (somewhere near shade) where you can pull up and pick up your items. There will be signage so that you can easily find them. Orders will be separated into units (Unit 1=K, 1st, and 2nd; Unit 2=3rd and 4th; Unit 3=5th and 6th) and then by teacher. Volunteers will practice social distancing and will be wearing masks when others are around and when they cannot socially distance. Please stay in your car! It is helpful if you pop your trunk (if possible) so that item(s) can be placed in your car with minimal contact. Thank you!

Our community partner, Underwood Hills Presbyterian Church, has food bags and is ready to share with the Hillside community! The church will have 30 weekend pantry bags available, which include milk and eggs. These food bags will be available starting at 4:00 pm on Friday, June 19, between 4:00 and 6:00 pm. (or until the bags are gone). Underwood Hills Presbyterian Church is located at 851 N. 74th Street. Pastor Sara Tonje and the congregation are ready to help supply families in need with food for the weekend!

We want to keep you updated on some road work near Hillside that will impact access to our building and parking lot. Starting June 15, crews will close Western Ave in front of Hillside. This will likely impact both 75th and 76th Streets.

When you come to Hillside during this closure, please enter the Hillside parking lot through the exit on 76th Street, coming from the north. This will serve as both the entrance and exit during pickup events. Please use extra caution when entering and exiting; we will have someone monitoring that area so that traffic flows smoothly.

Crews have told us they hope to be finished by early August. This is contingent upon weather and other factors. We will keep you updated regarding plans for the first day of school if the streets around our school will still be impacted.
