Please find an initial list of scholarships for our seniors. This list is continuously updated.

Here is a list of scholarships available both locally and nationally. Be sure to also check with the university you’ve been accepted to for additional opportunities within the academic department.

The RRHS PTSO scholarships will run from Saturday, March 8th through Sunday April 18th, 2025. Please make sure that your parent/guardian is a PTSO member by Friday, March 16th, 2025 in order for you to be able to participate in the contest.

The contest essay titles are as below-

1. RRHS PTSO Academic Excellence Scholarship Essay: “What person and/or people have supported you in your pursuit of success? In what ways have they supported you?” (Total 350 words)
2. RRHS PTSO Community Scholarship Essay: “Describe a project that you have completed that positively impacted your community.” (Total 350 words)
3. RRHS PTSO Character Scholarship Essay: “Describe a time where you chose to stand out and not follow the norm, and the lessons you learned from this experience.” (Total 350 words)
4. RRHS PTSO “The Phoenix” Scholarship Essay: “Describe a time where you “overcame the odds” and excelled beyond expectations.” (Total 350 words)

Several Scholarships available for students and even LCPS employees.

The Virginia State University Alumni Association (VSUAA) Northern Virginia Chapter's scholarship application is now available for high school students who plan to attend VSU this Fall 2025. Students must be a resident of Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax County, Fairfax City, Falls Church, Loudoun County, or Prince William County to apply. Students can visit the VSUAA NOVA website at www.vsuaanova.org under Scholarship to complete or download the scholarship application. An informative cover letter providing additional details is also available at this website. The application must be typed and postmarked or emailed to us using the guidelines provided in the cover letter by March 31, 2025. Please make this information available to your students. We look forward to hearing from them!

Three scholarships in the of $2,000 each are planned to be awarded in 2025 to encourage young people to prepare for careers in environmental protection by supporting studies leading to a bachelor's degree in applicable sciences and engineering.

Each year, the D.C. Area Phi Beta Kappa Association (DCPBK) offers awards of $1,000 to deserving recipients living in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Phi Beta Kappa is the nation's oldest and most eminent academic honor society, with almost half a million members. Since 1974, DCPBK has made this award annually to recognize outstanding local students and assist them with college or university tuition.

Students receiving our award must show a commitment to the values and mission of Phi Beta Kappa, including academic achievement, community involvement, and a dedication to the liberal arts and sciences. You can find more information about the award and application criteria on our website.

Applications must be submitted electronically by 11:59 PM on April 6, 2025. The application can be accessed on our website or through this form. If any of your students are unable to access the online application, please email awards@dcpbk.org and we will send along a Word document version. Successful applicants will be notified in late April.

Air Force Retired Officers Community (AFROC) / Falcons Landing Scholarship 15 @ $5,000 – one per high school

Criteria: Must be a graduating senior from a Loudoun County public high school

Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better Must be attending a two- or four-year accredited college or university

Attach a copy of FAFSA

Transcript must be included

Two letters of recommendation

Incomplete applications will not be considered

Deadline: Complete application package must be emailed by April 30, 2025.
