A Word from Our Principal, Markee Ramirez
Welcome back to another exciting school year!
This year promises to be filled with opportunities for growth, learning, and FUN. The Mountain Lion staff have been working hard and are eagerly awaiting your return.
Remember, high school is not just about books and tests. It's also about discovering your passions, building lasting friendships, and developing the skills that will prepare you for the future. I encourage you to get involved, challenge yourself, and take full advantage of the many resources and activities here at Mountain View.
As we embark on this journey together, keep in mind that every challenge is an opportunity for growth, and every success is a reason to celebrate. Let’s make this year our best one yet!

Fall Check-In - Thursday, August 8
Parents and Students, join us on Thursday, August 8, at Mountain View High School for Fall Check-In. Drop by anytime between 9 am - 4 pm!
Things happening during Fall Check-In:
- Student photos are taken for student IDs and yearbook
- Billing statement provided to students/families
- Fees can be paid
- Parking permits issued
- Requests for lockers
- Health information updates
- Purchase Activity Pass
- Purchase yearbook
If you are unable to attend Fall Check-In, picture make up day will be August 22nd at 9:00 am and retakes will be on October 11th at 9:00 am. Pictures and proofs will be mailed home. Transition Day for 9th Grade Students - Wednesday, August 14
Wednesday, August 14, is the first day of school for all 9th graders. School hours on Wednesday's only will be 9:30 am - 3:50 pm. Lunch will be provided and buses will run on their regular schedule.

First Day of School for All Students - Thursday, August 15
School officially kicks off for all grades on Thursday, August 15, at 8:30 am. Students will attend their odd block classes.

Purple & Black Football Game - Saturday, August 17
Come and cheer on the Mountain View Lions football team as they play in the Purple and Black Game on Saturday, August 17, at 7 pm on the MVHS turf. It's free! Wear your school colors!!

Back 2 School BBQ - Friday, August 23
Students, join us for the annual Back 2 School BBQ on Friday, August 23rd, from 4-6pm at MVHS. There will be free food and games for all students and staff. A spirit bus will also be available to transport students to Ray Patterson Stadium for our football team's game against Resurrection Christian School. *Please note: this is a one-way transport. Students will need to arrange for transportation home after the game.

Back to School Night - Wednesday, August 28
Parents / Guardians, bring your student's schedule and join us for back to school night on Wednesday, August 28, from 6-7 pm. This is a great opportunity to meet teachers and hear about the learning goals and expectations for the classroom.

Personal Electronics Device Policy
MVHS has a policy concerning the use of personal electronic devices including phones, iPads, gaming handhelds, etc. These policies will be enforced beginning on the first day of school.

Facility Upgrades at MVHS
Mountain View High School has been working on a number of items to improve safety and security throughout the summer.
The east and west access doors to the main atrium have been replaced with brand new doors! These upgrades will help keep our school safe. We are excited to welcome our students back through these doors once school begins for the 2024-2025 school year!
There have also been a number of vape sensors installed throughout our student restrooms. These vape sensors send an alert to both our school administration and our campus monitors. These alerts will allow us to address this serious health concern and help our students develop healthier habits here on campus.

Student Electronic ID's
Mountain View High School uses the MINGA app (MINGA) to house student IDs. Students need to download this app and log in using their school username/email and password. This will allow students to show a “live” ID upon entry to school every day. This can also be downloaded to the school Chromebook if a student does not have access to a smartphone or the ability to download the app. A physical ID may be requested by a parent/guardian by completing this form and the parent / guardian turning it in to the front office.

School Fees
Student Instructional/Course Fees and Fines can be paid in person at Fall Check-In or in the main office with a check or cash.
If you would like to avoid potentially long lines on Fall Check-In day, please log into Infinite Campus and pay your student's fees online under the “Fee” tab. When you click on the fees tab in your account you will be able to add each fee into your cart and proceed from there.
Families may also mail a check made out to MVHS with the student’s name and ID on the memo line. Payments may be made over the phone by calling (970) 613-7804. Please reach out to Melissa Waldron, MVHS Bookkeeper, with any questions at melissa.waldron@tsd.org.
Fees for 24-25 school year will not be posted in the student's portal account until August 8.

Pick Up & Drop Off Procedures
- Parents /Guardians may drop off or pick up students in the emergency lane at the front (East) of the school. Vehicles should not be left unattended in the Emergency Lane.
- During drop off, vehicles should not be parked in the emergency lane except to allow the student to exit the vehicle from the passenger side of the car.
- The left lane is for drive through only! No vehicle should be parked in the left lane!
- Parents/ Guardians and students should exit the parking lot at Mountain Lion Drive. Do not drive around the building to exit! Staff parking and bus pick up are on the West side of the building and it is not for through traffic.
- All vehicles exiting the parking lot are encouraged to make a right turn towards the roundabout to avoid long lines trying to exit the parking lot.
The back area and lanes on the West side of the school are designated for bus transportation and not accessible to parents/guardians or students.

School Supplies
Many have asked "Where is Mountain View High School's school supply list?" Students have so many choices when they attend high school and every student has a very different path in high school. Therefore, we do NOT provide a supply list.
Each student will receive from their teachers the first couple days of class a list of supplies they will need for their classes.

Lockers
Freshmen – You have been preassigned a locker. You can see your locker number and combo on your schedule through Infinite Campus. If you do not see your locker assignment on your Infinite Campus Schedule, please stop by the locker table at Fall Check-In on Thursday, August 8th.
Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors – your lockers are by request. Stop by the locker table at Fall Check-In on Thursday, August 8, or come to Indian Peaks during the school year to secure a locker.

Parking Permits
Students that drive to school in personal vehicles are required to have a Mountain View Parking Permit. One free parking sticker is allowed per student for the duration that student attends MVHS. Subsequent stickers are $5.00. Parking permits will be available at Fall Check-In on Thursday, August 8, or in the Front Office during the school year.
To request a parking permit, student must complete a registration form which MUST be signed by both the student and parent/guardian. You will also be asked to provide the following:
- Valid Driver's License
- Vehicle Registration
- Vehicle Proof of Insurance

Senior Parking Spots
Seniors! As you prepare to register for your final year with us here at Mountain View, you have the opportunity to reserve and paint your own parking spot. Spots are $25 and must be arranged during Fall Check-In on Thursday, August 8th. Please click here for detailed information, rules and requirements, as well as the agreement.

Thompson Education Foundation Backpacks
Thompson Education Foundation's Help Kids Succeed school supply program provided almost 1,600 supply-filled backpacks for our economically vulnerable students this year.
Families should visit the school in which they are registered to receive a backpack. For example, if a requesting family has two students, one in 4th grade and one in 9th grade, they would need to visit both their registered elementary school and high school to receive backpacks. Supplies are different for elementary/middle/high school levels.

Transportation Services
We ask that you please contact the Transportation Department directly with any questions around your student's transportation services. When you contact them, please give your student's full name, primary address, school of placement and your transportation question. You can contact the TSD Transportation Department at transportationrouting@tsd.org or the dispatch office at 970-613-5185 with any transportation questions.

Nutritional Services - Lunch & Breakfast at MVHS
The Thompson School District Nutrition Services department is dedicated to providing delicious meals that support student growth and achievement.. We source clean label, fresh and local items to include in our recipes and menus. With the passage of Healthy School Meals for All in Colorado, we are excited to be able to offer breakfast and lunch at no cost to students, regardless of income or meal benefit status.
Meal Benefit Application
All families are still asked to fill out an application. Why? The Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA) program is funded in partnership with federal nutrition programs that rely on income information to support meals for all students. Other state and federal grants are awarded based on free and reduced meal eligibility rates.
Additionally, families that qualify may receive discounted or waived fees for programs inside and outside of the school district. Applications are available to all households at school sites and online at https://linqconnect.com/main.
Applications need to be completed annually (after mid-July) for the new school year. The information provided on the application is confidential and is not shared without your consent.

Fall Sports Program
Mountain View offers a variety of fall sports programs for any level of athlete. Athletic registration is now open and must be completed before tryouts. Check the website for further registration details.

Palisade Peaches Fundraiser
We are selling boxes of peaches to help fundraise money for Student Council for this upcoming school year. Student Council has a mission to strengthen the community at Mountain View. We work hard to represent the school well and provide engaging events for our community to participate in. Funds raised in the past have helped us do everything from providing food at events, sending students to leadership conferences, performing random acts of kindness, and installing water bottle fill stations at our school. With your help, we can accomplish great things, and in return, you get some delicious peaches!
18lb box ~ $45 / 9lb half box ~ $25. Link to order
Orders are due by August 15th and peaches will arrive on August 28th. Please coordinate with the student you order from to obtain your peaches. Checks payable to MVHS StuCo. Peaches are supplied by C&R Farms in Palisade, CO.

Activity Pass
Activity Passes are available in the front office at MVHS and allow you to attend any Mountain View Home game without paying the ($5.00 for students & senior adults / and $8.00 for adults) gate fee. This activity pass is for all seasons (fall, winter and spring).
Costs for these passes are:
Students ~ $40
Child ~ $15
Adults ~ $80 for the first family member / $60 for each additional family member
Larimer County Senior citizens (65+ years) can obtain a Golden 65 Card which allows them to attend any regular-season, at-home athletic event for free. This does not allow admittance to school theatre productions or other activities. Call the district athletics and activities coordinator at 970-613-5030 for more information.
Students, if you plan to purchase an activity pass, you will need a receipt from the billing table to receive your embedded activity pass on your student ID. When you have an activity pass, we are able to put this on your student ID. Just show your ID with the activity pass on it and you can attend the event.

MVHS FoodPak
MVHS FoodPak is back. Our mission is to make sure every kid has food over the weekend. You can order food that will be delivered to a teacher or office of your choice and can be picked up after 2 pm on Fridays. This program is open to all students, just have your order in EVERY SINGLE Thursday, during the school year, by 1 pm. Just scan the QR code below, or ask a teacher or counselor for help.
