MATH NIGHT
On Tuesday evening, September 19, 2017 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm, Montgomery Elementary will hold an exciting event called Family Math Night! Students, parents, siblings, and other relatives are invited to attend a fun-filled evening of mathematical pleasure.
The intent of Family Math Night is to participate in
math standards in action as we strengthen the mathematical application, problem solving, and communication skills of students through the power of family interaction. We encourage you to continue to support your child’s mathematical growth through your participation in Family Math Night.
Light refreshments will be served as well
as the opportunity to win the math game, Equate or Money Bags. Two engaging books will be shared in our media center during the evening. Students will have
a chance to win each book.
If you have any questions about math night,
please email
Mr. Shaver
at shavera@sycamoreschools.org.

Pops for Tops is back! It's time to clip and send in those little pink Box Tops. From September 18th - October 20th we will be collecting Box Tops. Please fill out the "Pops for Tops" form you received in your Thursday folder. Additional forms are available here. Every student who submits 10 Box Tops will receive a lollipop! MAKERSPACE - Mrs. Messer
I read a book called The Man Who Walked Between the Towers by Mordicai Gerstein. A nonfiction book about Philippe Petit's 1974 tightrope walk between the World Trade Center towers. After instructional time, I opened up makerspace stations for the kids. The 4 students at the engineering station decided to bring the book to life by creating the twin towers and the tightrope walker.
BOOSTERTHON
It's time to make payment on your Boosterthon pledges! Remember, the top classes at each grade level who COLLECT the most money will compete in a dodgeball game against the teachers in November! The deadline to make payments is Thursday, September 21, 2017. It is a tight race!
Congrats to our students on completing the Fifty State Challenge. Here is Dynamite Dylan (a.k.a. Duct Tape Dylan) following through on his promise to be taped to the flagpole! If you don't want to miss out on pictures like this, contact Charlene Butcher to be added to our private Facebook group.
