Congratulations to our Neumann Scholars! π
Congratulations to: Eisenhower (Howie) Au, Atticus Luna and Joaquin Luna!! The Neumann Scholarship is a highly competitive award given to 8th-grade students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement on the high school placement exams which were administered in September. To even qualify for consideration is an achievement in itself, and these studentsβ dedication and hard work have led to them being named among this yearβs winners. Please join me in celebrating this milestone achievement for our school and offering heartfelt congratulations to our talented scholars. Their success reflects the very best of what Saint Aloysius Parish School represents.
Family Christmas π
This Saturday is packed with holiday family fun. Home & School is so excited to welcome our registered families to our Santa Breakfast from 8:00- 11:00 in the cafeteria. There will be holiday crafts in the gym, yummy breakfast and of course, pictures with the big guy! Later in the evening, join us for our traditional Family Christmas at Church. Mass begins at 5:15 pm followed by the tree lighting. Word on the street is that Santa will be there as well!

Sunday's Gospel Connection π
During the season of Advent, we choose to add many activities to our family's schedule to prepare for our celebration of Christmas. John the Baptist reminds us that our repentance is another way in which we can prepare for the Lord's coming and our celebration of Christmas. Parish communities often offer a communal celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation during the Advent season. Your family might choose to participate in the communal celebration of the sacrament, or you might seek out this sacrament on an individual basis.
Read together today's Gospel, Luke 3:1-6. Talk about how John the Baptist called upon the people to prepare the way of the Lord through repentance. Together as a family, prepare a simple reconciliation service in preparation for Christmas. Gather in a prayerful space, perhaps around the family Advent wreath. Read again from today's Gospel, Luke 3:1-6. Invite each family member to pray silently, asking God to forgive his or her sins. Pray together the Act of Contrition. Then celebrate God's forgiveness by sharing the sign of peace with one another.
