A reminder, if your child is signed up for an after school class at VH, be sure this is communicated to your child's homeroom teacher. It is important that the teacher knows in advance that they are going to a class instead of their regular end of day routine.

We wanted to share some information with you in response to some reported cases of head lice in our school. Unfortunately, head lice is relatively common among elementary-aged students. Exclusion from school is not recommended when treating head lice. What can you do to help?

• Encourage avoidance of direct head-to-head contact

• Discourage the sharing of hats, combs, brushes, headbands, etc.

• Frequently (weekly) check your child’s head for head lice

Our fall Communication Nights will be Nov 21 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Your child's homeroom teachers sent out links to sign up on Nov 4. If you did not receive the information or have additional questions, please contact your child's teacher. Click here for the staff directory.

If your child has borrowed clothes from the Health Office (especially pants), please wash them and return these to the health office so we can use them again.

Is your child missing anything? Our lost & found is overflowing. Please make sure your child has checked lost & found if they are missing anything. If you want to come up and look, you may do so during school hours (bring your driver's license). All items will be bagged up over the Thanksgiving break.

PTO Meeting

The next PTO Meeting will be Mon, Dec 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the Valentine Hills Library (in person and virtual). We will be voting on grant requests! Please email valentinepto@gmail.com if you are in need of childcare.

Bookfair

A BIG thank you to everyone (organizers, volunteers, shoppers) who helped make the bookfair a success!

Communication Night Potluck

Communication nights are great for families to have check-ins but make for extremely long days for staff. So the PTO thinks the least we can do is feed them dinner! We had Chipotle catered for them on the 14th and are looking for help with a potluck for them on the 21st. Below is the signup if you are interested in helping us support the staff.

We need help taking photos of weekly CARES winners! The time commitment is approximately from 9:30-11:00 a.m. on mostly Fridays throughout the school year.

Amazon Wishlist
We are excited to finally share the Amazon Wishlist we are hosting on behalf of the Valentine Hills Staff (with a working link!). This will be an evergreen list that staff will continue to add to as their needs change and we will share it throughout the year.

Each item will have a teacher or staff member's name and urgency listed next to it. There is obviously no obligation at all but we are just excited to help support staff in any extra way we can. If you choose to order an item, we ask that you please add the staff member's name in the gift message to help get it to the correct person.

Early giving for Give to the Max is happening NOW and continues through Nov 21. Consider donating to the Mounds View Schools Education Foundation, a local nonprofit whose mission is simply to support all MVPS students.
