Treats for Troops
Our school will participate in Treats for Troops. We will collect candy to send to deployed troops. Stone School 4H will bag and send off the candy; last year our club collected over 150 pounds of candy! If your student/family wishes to donate there will be a collection box in the front office. In exchange for their donation students will receive a free Culver's scoop and a water bottle sticker. We will be collecting from Friday, November 1st - November 7th. Thank you!

7 Mindsets- Passion First
Developing Student Self-Awareness
Please see the attached newsletter for an overview of the new 7 Mindsets unit we are beginning. Over the next few weeks, I hope that you'll take the opportunity to discuss this mindset with your child and complete the suggested activities to learn and grow together.

Derek Pratt
Congratulations to Jenny Verduzco and Danielle Dillon
4K- School Safety Visit
Thank you to Officer Garcia for visiting with our 4K classes and teaching our youngest students to be safe. The students also got to have some fun turning on his lights and sirens!
4th Graders Welcome a Guest Speaker
Fourth graders welcomed a local adventurer to the classroom on Tuesday, October 8th! Rick Pertzborn, a Whitewater resident was invited to speak on his experience climbing Mt. Everest. In ELA, students just finished reading a story about Erik Weihenmayer, a blind man who made the trek to Everest’s summit. Students were fascinated by this feat and had lots of questions about how one would be able to do this.
Mr. Pertzborn showed students photos from Kathmandu, Nepal, and brought some of his gear, including an altimeter, hiking poles, and his insulated jacket. Students learned about the difficulties faced, training, and the local Tibetan community, among other topics. One of the most awe-inspiring moment for him was looking around at night and feeling as if you could touch the stars. He also shared his experiences from the Great Barrier Reef and the Great Wall of China! Be sure to ask your 4th grader his/her favorite part!

Road Rally RECAP!
What a beautiful day we had for our Road Rally last month! We couldn't have asked for better weather! The kids had so much fun walking and running the track, collecting their lap bracelets, and rasing money for our AMAZING school to use throughout the year to help support various activities!
We raised a grand total of $1,306.00! If you didn't get a chance to donate, and would still like to contribute, please feel free to send cash or check (made out to Lincoln FTP) to the main office. You can also use our FTP QR code too to pay via PayPal!
Thank you to our Lincoln families and students to help make our Lincoln Road Rally a success!!
Mark your calendars for Jersey Mike's Night to support Lincoln!
