Hello Bulldogs,

Please return the Impact Aid Forms tomorrow if you have not done so already. It is important that these be returned. Thank you!

Parent/Teacher conferences continue this week. Please remember that each day is an early release day, with dismissal at 12:25 p.m.

The deadline to purchase device insurance was extended to October 20th. If you wish to purchase this to insure your student's school-issued devices, visit this site to sign up.

Mark your calendar for some upcoming meetings. On Tuesday, 10/17, our School Site Council will meet at 3:15 p.m. Even if you are not a council member, you can attend. Here is the link for the meeting and here is the agenda link.

Our Fright Night is scheduled for this Friday, October 20th. You can check out this link for more volunteer information or to sign up. It starts at 5:00 p.m. I can't wait to see our students in costume.

If you can't come to the book fair with your student(s), students can purchase books when their class visits the book fair. Click on the picture for the Class Book Fair Schedule for this week.

No Costumes at school during the day on Oct. 20th. You are encouraged to wear them to our Fright Night event. You may wear costumes to School on Halloween on Tuesday, Oct. 31st.

Camp Pendleton has recently begun playing Morning Colors over all of the speakers on the base. This will happen at 8:00 daily. As an FYI, people who live on base are to stop moving when they hear it play -- people walking will stop, and people driving will stop their cars. We want you to be aware because you may be driving behind someone and not know why they suddenly stop. During morning colors, staff, students, and families outside of campus need to stop and face the flag until completely over. We will be working on this with our staff and students over the next few weeks. We have been advised by our Camp Pendleton school community liaison, Rose Soloman, that once inside the campus, civilians have the option to continue working as usual or to stop and face the flag when morning colors are played.

OUSD is currently hiring for paraprofessionals. A Human Resource representative will be on campus at Stuart Mesa on 10/20 at 7:30 a.m. and at 11:30 a.m. OUSD is offering a $800 signing bonus for paraprofessionals.

There will also be an OUSD job fair on 10/17 at the district office. Click on the picture for more details.

All month long, kids 12 and under receive FREE admission with a paid adult to more than 50 of San Diego County’s favorite museums, historic sites, aquariums, gardens and more. Many are even free for the whole family! Click here to learn more.

Students can wear their Halloween costumes on Tuesday, Oct. 31st. Please be sure costumes are appropriate for school using these guidelines:

• No Masks or Helmets covering the face or head

• No pretend guns, swords, knives, and other violent props

• No violent themes with blood or gore

• Select a costume for your child that is easy to walk in

• Wear appropriate shoes-no sandals or slippers

• Storybook characters are encouraged

• Candy is NOT allowed in school.
