Harrington Happenings
April 6
Happy Sunday Harrington Families!
As we continue our journey through the school year, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your support and involvement in our school community. It's been an exciting time filled with learning, growth, and memorable moments. Our students are making great strides, both academically and socially, and it's heartwarming to see their enthusiasm for school each day.
I want to thank all of our 4th graders and our 4th grade parent committee for such an amazing pasta dinner night last Thursday. The work that goes into putting an event like that into operation is extensive and see the looks on the parents and students faces as they served their adult was wonderful to see. I'm glad we brought this event back into Harrington.
As always, thank you for being such a vital part of our school family. Please remember to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance—our door is always open.
Looking ahead, we have some exciting events coming up, so stay tuned for more information in future newsletters!
Once again, remember to…"Stay Respectful, Stay Responsible, Stay Ready... Embrace the challenges, learn from mistakes, and have fun"
Be safe! Stay well!
Rob & Karen
Grade 3 and 4 ELA MCAS
Grades 3 & 4 will be participating in the upcoming ELA MCAS. This assessments help measure student progress, ensure educational standards are being met, and provide valuable feedback to guide future learning. Students are encouraged to take the time to prepare, stay focused, and do their best.
Grade 3 will be taking their ELA MCAS on April 7 & 8, Grade 4 will be on April 9 & 10, with the makeup date being April 11. Please ensure that your student is rested and eats a good breakfast and very importantly are on time this week for testing. Students will begin at 9:30 prompt. Students that arrive after 9:30 will have to take their MCAS on the Make up day 4/11.
Remember, this is an opportunity to showcase your knowledge and skills. Best of luck to all students as they demonstrate their hard work and dedication!

Looking to join the board for the 2025-2026 school year? You’re in luck! We will have board positions open for next year:
✏️ Secretary The PTO Secretary’s main responsibilities are capturing minutes at our monthly PTO meetings and posting them to our shared drive (monthly meeting schedule TBD for 2025-2026). Still have energy? While these are the main responsibilities of the role, there are plenty of opportunities to do more if you’d like!
💰 Treasurer The PTO Treasurer helps develop a budget, collects fundraising money, writes checks for purchases and reimbursements, tracks all income and spending, makes financial reports at meetings, and prepares the books for periodic audits. Financial experience is necessary. Experience with Money Minder is a plus.
🏫 Teacher Appreciation Coordinator This newly created PTO Teacher Appreciation Coordinator board position involves idea generation and execution of the various teacher appreciation events that happen during the school year. Examples include coordinating with local establishments for menu options, picking up food, and setup and breakdown of appreciation events. This position requires attendance at monthly meetings. Must be available to help with occasional daytime activities at the school.
The deadline to submit your name as a candidate is Monday, April 7. Please email harringtonpto@gmail.com to submit your name/position you are interested in.
