Attendance Matters: EVERY DAY COUNTS!
Excerpt from Dr. Crain's Attendance Message
It’s hard to believe we are halfway through the 2024-25 school year. I’m reaching out to share a growing concern for the youth of our community. Decades of research show that chronically absent students (students missing more than 10% of the school year) are less likely to be reading at grade level by third grade and are at a much higher risk of dropping out of school and not earning a high school diploma. Unfortunately, several grade levels have experienced much lower attendance this fall than in previous years:
Kindergarten attendance is 14% below last year’s attendance rate.
The fifth-grade student cohort attendance is 12% below last year’s attendance.
Eighth-grade attendance is 12% below last year’s attendance.
Please find the complete attendance message in your email.
December Attendance Data
Reminder: The State Attendance Target is for 90% of students to attend school at least 90% of the time.
Fall 2024 Climate & Culture Surveys

Fulton Public Schools has adopted the "I Love U Guys" Foundation's Standard Response Protocol (SRP) as part of our district wide emergency operations plan.
The SRP is based on an all-hazards approach as opposed to individual scenarios. SRP utilizes clear common language while allowing for flexibility in protocol.
The premise is simple - there are five specific actions that can be performed during an incident. Execution of the action is performed by active participants, including students, staff, teachers and first responders. The SRP is based on the following actions: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter.
