Join the Kids Reading Across RI Committee
You're invited to join the Kids Reading Across RI Committee!
Public librarians, school librarians and teachers who have experience with children in grades 3 - 6 are invited to join the Kids Reading Across RI (KRARI) Committee. KRARI comittee members will select the 2021 book, help develop and facilitate virtual events and activities, and create a discussion guide and related resources for KRARI book discussions.
The first 2020/21 committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10 at 4:30pm. It will be a virtual meeting using Zoom. Register for the meeting at https://olis-ri.libcal.com/event/7204640.

We’ll continue our discussion of the best children’s books of 2020. Please read at least half the books on the second discussion list. Voting for a Rhode Island winner and honor books will take place on January 14, 2021 using the balloting procedures of the real Newbery committee. The second discussion list will be available on October 13 at http://www.olis.ri.gov/youth/newbery/index.php.

It’s time to vote for a Rhode Island Mock Newbery winner and honor books! Please read all the titles from the third reading list and come prepared to defend your top picks before we vote using the balloting procedures of the real Newbery committee.
