This is MY Whitehall-Coplay
In December, we ran a contest with our High School Photography Club and Digital Photography students to capture images that represent their perspective of what Whitehall-Coplay means to them. Our hope is that we will continue to expand this to the rest of our student body so that they can share images that make Whitehall-Coplay a great place to learn and grow.

This photo shows the beauty of my Whitehall. This is a place where creativity can run wild, especially with our musical department. The photo showcases a small but inspiring moment in our concerts that reminds me everyone has a role and contribution to creating our community.
Student Service Spotlight
In this section, we proudly highlight students who are making a difference in the Whitehall-Coplay community through meaningful service projects. Laney Headman
Hi, I’m Laney! I’m passionate about giving back to my community and making a positive impact wherever I can. I volunteer with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, where I enjoy mentoring and building connections with younger students. I also spend time helping at Zephyr Elementary as a student helper and volunteering at a local daycare, where I love working with kids and supporting their growth. In addition, I make regular visits to nursing home residents, bringing smiles and companionship to brighten their days. Outside of volunteering, I’m a varsity cheerleader and a member of the varsity track and field team, where I’ve learned the value of teamwork and perseverance. Giving back to my community is truly rewarding, and I’m proud to contribute in ways that make a difference.
Zephyr Zoom In: Whitehall-Coplay Middle School
Here at Whitehall-Coplay School District, our classrooms are buzzing with energy as students take on hands-on projects, collaborative learning, and creative challenges. From STEM experiments to artistic endeavors, the spirit of "We Are Zephyrs" shines through in every lesson, reflecting our pride and commitment to excellence.
The students began by exploring the fundamental laws of force and motion. With these principles in mind, they embarked on the challenge of creating functional balloon cars. Each student had to carefully consider how to harness the power of air propulsion to move their cars forward efficiently. They tested various materials, adjusted their designs, and learned from trial and error.
This initiative not only reinforced their understanding of physics but also encouraged a deeper appreciation for the scientific method. The result was a series of creative, unique balloon cars that showcased the students' hard work and ingenuity. Thank you to Mrs. Neas and Mr. Sommer for facilitating this learning experience for our students.

Mrs. Feyer (1)
Mrs. Feyer's students used connecting cubes to show different ways to make a number using tens and ones. Using math manipulatives allow students to physically interact with abstract mathematical concepts, providing a concrete representation that helps them better understand and visualize complex ideas, leading to deeper learning and improved problem-solving skills.
Mrs. Kellerman (K)
The class is finding problems around the room to learn about tens and ones.
In reading the children are identifying a syllable type using a hand sign so we can sound out to read and write more words.
Ms. Cesare (K)
The "Teen Number Race" game is a fun and interactive activity designed to help kindergarten students understand and recognize teen numbers (11-19). In this game, children will be introduced to the concept of teen numbers through playful, hands-on learning. The game helps children strengthen their counting skills, number recognition, and understanding of the unique structure of teen numbers (ten plus extra ones).
Mrs. Boyer (1)
Mrs. Boyer’s class is excited to learn about our adopted calf, Milkshake! Through Discover Dairy’s Adopt A Cow program, Farmer Paige from Kurtland Farm shares monthly updates, including pictures, videos, and fun facts about Milkshake.
This week, we’re taking a virtual tour of Kurtland Farm with a scavenger hunt activity. Plus, we just received Milkshake’s four-month update from Farmer Paige! Now, we can chart her current height and weight to see how much she has grown.
