The Saints Spotlight!
9/18
“A #2 pencil and a dream can take you anywhere.” — Joyce Meyer
We are a few weeks into school and have had a great start to the school year. It sure has been busy. Last week we have our 9/11 Flag Raising Ceremony-thank you Mrs. Potter, Mrs. Susice, our Girl Scouts, 3rd grade, 4th grade and Mr. Stevenson for contributing to that special event! We also had Open House along with a few home soccer games! It is great to be back in the groove of school!
It was great to meet many of you at Open House. Thank you to all of you for your help with this!! Kids are showing up ready to learn which is awesome!!
There are a few questions and one survey regarding ideas for Home Base below.
Reach out if there is anything that you need!

Pk-12 Principal
Fun in 5th Grade Science with an experiment called "Tiny Ocean"!
Last week students in Grades 7-12 completed a survey regarding what they were interested in for home base activities.
The idea is "The goal of this time is to help you connect to school, connect to each other, connect to their advisors, and connect with your own aspirations. Clubs and others groups will meet during that time. You may have heard of some existing clubs, like Student Council and Guitar Club. What others could we start? What else would you like to see or do? Below, please enter existing clubs you might be interested in as well as ideas for new ones."
The ideas students shared were then compiled and shared back to students in an effort to gauge interest and to drive the schedule.
The ideas that rose to the top for students are:
board games
gimkit club
guitar club
outside
quiet space
sports/intramural
big buddy/classroom helpers
It was suggested that I get ideas from families about what they would like to see during this time. What would you like to see us offer for our students? Is there anything you would be interested in helping out with?
Thank you for helping us to help our students!!
Students Register for North Country Community College Bridge Classes
Last week we opened up registration for the classes offered in partnership with Saint Regis Falls and North Country Community College.
The virtual meeting was to discuss earning North Country Community College Credit for classes at Saint Regis Falls that are eligible. This year we current have 4 eligible classes and are working on another.
If your student is enrolled in a class where Bridge course credit is available, it is not necessary for them to earn the credits.
To earn the Bridge course credits students will need to earn a 73 or higher. The Bridge course credits will count at any SUNY school through the SUNY seamless transfer.
The cost for a Bridge course is $75.00. The link to sign up for NCCC Bridge course(s) is/are here: https://www.nccc.edu/registration/college-bridge-registration-saint-regis-falls.html
When signing for the Bridge course the students need to use a personal email. Bill payments will be sent towards the end of October.

Communication
Messages to Students
Students need to be paying attention and fully on task during classes. It is important that if you have a message for your child it is sent early in the day so that they are able to see it when they have a chance between periods.
Messages left with the office will be shared and are another excellent option for contacting your child.
Parent and Teacher Contact
Teachers are updating grades/information on SchoolTool regularly.
If you need to contact a teacher, email (first initial last name) @stregiscsd.org, phone call (teacher's phones are directed to voicemail during classes), or through Rooms is the best option.
Please allow at least 24 - 48 hours for a teacher to reply.
If any parent wants to see a teacher during the school day, it may be done by appointment. An appointment can be made through the teacher or by phoning the school office.

Mr. Beck is sponsoring ESports!! Please let him know ASAP. The first match is next week!
