Support Edgewood Middle School by participating in the Chipotle Fundraiser! On Saturday, December 7, from 5 to 9 p.m., when you order food from the Northtown Chipotle (599 Northtown Dr NE, Blaine), Chipotle will donate 25% of food sales to Edgewood. You must mention Edgewood when placing your order in person or online.

Winter Weather Reminders
As we move into the winter months, here are five things to know about potential snow days. The decision to close schools is a difficult one to make, and we realize that it significantly impacts all of our families. To learn more about the criteria for school closures, visit mvps.me/weather.
Band Concert
Come support your friends in the 5th and 6th Grade Band Concert, on Tuesday, December 10, beginning at 7:00 pm in the performance gym. The Jazz Band will be there performing again also. It's going to be a great evening of music and your friends would love to see you there!
Community Meal Hosted by the Mounds View CEC
Please join the Community Engagement Committee (CEC) for a community meal on Wednesday, December 11, from 6-8 pm. Click here for more information and to register.
Orchestra Concert
Join us for our 6-8th grade Orchestra Concert on Thursday evening, December 12, beginning at 7:00 pm in the performance gym. We hope to see you there!
Eagle Leaders Spirit Week & Candy Grams
Next Friday, December 13, is the eighth grade Winter Wonderland event. Eagle Leaders are supporting this event by hosting a spirit week which includes themes that were finalists for the 8th grade event. Please see the themes below and join us in the fun! Also, Eagle Leaders will be selling candy grams before school the week of December 9-12 in the activities entrance. They will be 75 cents each and they come with a stick of candy, a custom card, and delivery! Proceeds will be donated to the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf.
Eighth Grade Dance
A Winter Wonderland dance is being planned by our eighth grade EMS Students, as a celebration event for eighth graders ONLY. The dance will run from 2:30-4:00 pm on Friday, December 13, which will include a dance area as well as other alternative activities. Activity buses will still run on this day for students who need a ride home (boarding at 3:45 pm). If you need to sign up for the activity bus, click here to fill out the form or scan the QR code.
Order Your Yearbook Online Now!
Yearbooks can now be ordered here. Order now to guarantee a copy for your student at the end of the school year. The online order window closes Friday, March 14, 2025.
Students or parents, if you have any photos with teammates, music mates, or friends that you'd like to share in the yearbook, please send a copy of the photo to Mr. Creagh at benjamin.creagh@moundsviewschools.org.
Did You Know?
The total number of lunches served to students last school year was a record-breaking 1,313,545 lunches! This represents an impressive 13.8% increase from the previous school year.

Activity Bus Routes
Regular school day buses leave Edgewood at 2:32 pm.
Activity/After-school routes leave Edgewood at 3:45 pm (Monday- Thursday).
There are two after-school/activity bus routes, buses #65 & #8. To find the location of your students' drop-off location for the after-school bus routes, click here.

Community Ed Activities Registration Opens Monday, December 9
Registration for winter/spring Community Education activities opens Monday, December 9, at 9 am. Flip through the electronic catalog now and register starting Monday at mvpschools.org/RegisterCommunityEd.
Fitness Training
Basic fitness training principles will be incorporated into this program, which is designed to help students increase their cardiovascular endurance, strength and agility. All students in grades 6 – 8 are encouraged to participate. Fitness training will meet from 2:30 - 3:40 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays from January 6 - February 12. Activity Buses are available to qualified students at 3:45pm. Please bring a water bottle, athletic wear and tennis shoes. Register here.
Girls Basketball
Intramural basketball focuses on skill building, teamwork, and sportsmanship. All girls in grades 6-8 are encouraged to participate; no experience necessary!! The focus of this activity is on skill building, teamwork and sportsmanship. Activity buses are available after practice for eligible students. Transportation will be provided to and from schools on game days - this bus will not bring students home, individual transportation home will need to be arranged by participants on competition evenings. Please bring a water bottle and tennis shoes.
Practices will be 2:30-3:40 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays from January 6 - February 12. Games will be 3:00-5:00 pm on 1/27 & 2/12 at Highview Middle School (tentative schedule). Register here.
Boys Basketball

Swimming - Coed/Competitive
All swimmers are welcome to swim with friends and work on improving stroke, Skill-building, strength and conditioning plus competitions. Activities will not meet on non-school days. Activity buses are available after practice for eligible students. Game day busing will bring all students to host school departing at 2:35 pm and return remaining students to their home school ONLY by 5:30 pm. Please bring a swimsuit, towel and water bottle.
Practices will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30-3:40 pm; meets are 3:00-5:00 pm on 3/12 & 4/9 at Edgewood Middle School (tentative schedule). Register here.
Swimming - Coed/Non-competitive
All swimmers are welcome to swim with friends and work on improving stroke technique, strength, teamwork and sportsmanship. This is Practice only (no competition days).
Non-competive swimming will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:40 pm from February 25 - April 10 and will not meet on non-school days. Activity buses are available after practice for eligible students. Please bring a swimsuit, towel and water bottle. Register here.
Badminton - Coed
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Participants can play in singles or doubles. Badminton will not participate in competitions. Activity buses are available after practice for eligible students at 3:45 pm.
Practices will be held from 2:30-3:40 pm on Tuesdays and/Thursdays from February 25 - April 10 in the Red Gym. Register here.
Water Color & Greeting Cards
Join us in this festive and creative workshop where you’ll learn the art of crafting beautiful watercolor Christmas greeting cards. Perfect for beginners and seasoned artists alike, this class offers a delightful journey into the world of watercolor painting with a holiday twist. You will be making four watercolor greeting cards. The class will be on Wednesday, December 11, from 2:40-4:45 pm in Room 4. Cost is $26 and you must register through Community Ed at https://moundsview.arux.app/course/5271/fall-2024/water-color-greeting-cards%E2%80%942. Presented by Acrylic Art Studio.
Reduced Fees & Financial Assistance
Youth who are residing within the Mounds View Public Schools boundaries and currently qualify for educational benefits and/or free/reduced lunch may be eligible for reduced fees and partial scholarships to qualifying Enrichment & Activities programs. Financial support is provided by the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf, District Community Education Scholarship fund and other community donors. Qualifying Enrichment and Activities will have a Financial Support/Educational Benefits fee rate that is 50% of the full fee for the program. Middle School Consent Form for High School Activities
Seventh & eighth grade athletes that wish to participate on a high school team will also register online. Before you begin your online registration, approval must be obtained from the middle school principal or dean, the high school activities director, and coach. In addition, signatures from both student & parent/guardian are also required. You can get a copy of the middle school consent form in the front office or print out a copy.

Friendly Chromebook Reminders
Chromebooks are provided to each student to provide access to digital learning opportunities in class. Please remind your child(ren) of the following:
- Charge your chromebook each night so you're ready for school in the morning.
- Treat your chromebook with care. Chromebooks can be damaged if they are in your backpack and it gets tossed, thrown, or dropped.
- Keep chromebooks in a safe place at home.
- Chromebooks are to be used by the person they are assigned to. Please do not allow your siblings or friends to use your chromebook.

The front office hours are Monday-Thursday from 6:45 am - 4:00 pm and Friday from 6:45 am - 2:45 pm.
