Lenski Weekly Update
April 4th, 2025
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Families,
We hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break and a great first week back! It was such a joy to see all of our Superstars again. It’s hard to believe we’re in the final stretch of the school year!
A huge thank you to those who have already filled out the class placement feedback form. If you haven’t yet, you can access it here.. Your input is incredibly valuable as we make decisions for next year. We plan to share class placements and host a "Fly-Up" Day before summer break to help students transition smoothly.
This week, we held our monthly Town Halls and had the pleasure of welcoming high school students from Littleton, Arapahoe, and Heritage. They spoke to our students about the power of kindness and how being kind is cool! We also had members of the Green Team talk about being kind to our environment and to share about Earth Month. We’ve officially launched our "Kindness is Cool" campaign—ask your student how they’ve shown kindness this week!
Our 5th Graders also went to Young Ameritowne this week. The hard work they put in to preparing for this experience was amazing! Thank you to our incredible 5th grade team and to all the awesome parents that helped make this learning opportunity so memorable and special for our students.
Looking ahead, 3rd-5th grade students will take the CMAS assessments next week. These tests provide us with valuable insights into how students are progressing with state standards. The results also contribute to the School Performance Framework, which helps us set goals and make instructional decisions for the future. We wish our amazing Superstars the best of luck! Thank you for supporting them by ensuring they get plenty of rest and eat a healthy breakfast.
Next week is extra special—it's our favorite Assistant Principal’s birthday and National Assistant Principal Week! 🎉
Ms. Lessmann is the strong backbone of our school, and I’m incredibly grateful to lead Lenski alongside such a wonderful and talented educator. If you see her, be sure to show her some Lenski Love!
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend ahead!
With Lenski Love,
Jessica

Edu Kit: Order Today for the upcoming 2025-2026 School Year
The EduKit program is a convenient option for busy families to order school supplies for the upcoming school year. Orders placed before June 21 will be shipped free directly to Lenski and delivered to your student's classroom before the first day of school.
Extended ordering is available through EduKit's Last Chance program from June 22-July 12 for an additional fee (plus $12.95 shipping) and will be delivered to your home shortly before school begins on August 12.
The EduKit website contains full kits for purchase for your student, as well as optional donation kits that contain all necessary individual supplies but do not contain classroom community supplies (tissues, Clorox wipes, Ziploc bags, etc.). The donation kits will be provided to Lenski students who do not have school supplies. Alternatively, monetary donations can be added to your order at checkout and these funds will be aggregated to purchase donation kits for classrooms.

From the GREEN TEAM
Did you know It takes 1,000 years for a plastic bag to degrade in a landfill. Unfortunately, the bags don't break down completely but instead photo-degrade, becoming microplastics that absorb toxins and continue to pollute the environment. That's why our Lenksi EcoStars are challenging Lenski families to help us keep plastic film out of landfills with Ridwell this spring! To participate in this limited-time recycling drive and celebrate Earth Kindness Month, bring plastic film (ziptop bags, grocery bags, bubble wrap, and lots more) to school April 28-May 2 and Ridwell will make sure it stays out of landfills. It’ll be turned into new decking materials instead! Start collecting plastic film at home now so you have a bunch for the drive.
Curious about at-home recycling pickup from Ridwell? They collect hundreds of common household items you can’t recycle curbside, like plastic food packaging, lightbulbs, clothes, Styrofoam, and more. If you sign up for a household membership by May 23, you’ll also help earn pickup of the school’s plastic film for all of the ‘25/’26 school year! Imagine how many ziploc bags we can divert just from our school snacks!
Visit https://get.ridwell.com/lenski for more information—and make sure you sign up through that page so your membership counts toward rewards for the school!
