Our HES community did an amazing job packing over one thousand snack bags for our holiday food drive on Wednesday. Donations were dropped off at Feeding Westchester, feedingwestchester.org . Thank you to all of our families who donated items for the drive. Thank you to Ms. Kurlander, Ms. Baltich, Ms. Georgioudakis and Mr. Guido for organizing the drive.
Second Grade Sing Along December 13th
Please see the schedule below for our second grade sing-along on the 13th. We will gather in the gym for singing. We will send home HES Event wristbands at the beginning of December. Please have all adults wear their wristbands. Parking will be available at Holy Rosary. Please proceed to the main entrance on Memorial Drive.

Portrait of a Learner Focus for November: Empathy
Our students have been learning about way to express empathy all month. Remember to wear red next Wednesday to show your empathy. We have been focusing on being collaborative, understanding point of view and expressing our thanks to each other.
Reminders
1. Please have your identification when visiting Hawthorne.
2. We are a nut-free school. Please do not send in products that contain or may contain nuts or sunflower seeds.
3. The cooler weather is here. We go outside daily for recess when temperatures are above freezing and it is not raining. In colder temperatures we may split recess between outdoors and indoors. Please make sure to send your child to school with warm clothing for the winter months.
