MITCHELL HIGH SCHOOL NEW STUDENT ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS
*If your student is a new 9th grade Freshman for the 23-24 school year, coming from a D11 feeder Middle School (Swiggert,Sabin,Galileo,Mann) you do not need to complete a new student registration form. Just Please make sure to report any changes on information*
1.– A parent or guardian must enroll a student in District 11
• Go to the D11 website/Enrollment and complete a new student registration form. www.D11.org
• You must create an account, complete all the steps on the submission and get a confirmation of submission message.
NOTE! Any incomplete forms won’t be processed.
2.- The following documentation is required to enroll (these can be uploaded in the New Student Registration Form, or you can bring
them to the Registrar’s Office and we will make copies for you):
• Parent / Guardian ID
(If there is a custody granted to the adult, please provide the legal documentation)
• Verification of child’s birth date
(birth certificate, passport or military ID-if military ID shows date of birth)
• Immunization records
If not available, we can request from the previous school or you will have time to complete them.
Proof of residency
Current utility bill showing your name and the property address or current lease or rental agreement.
(If you live with family or friends: Current letter from the family you are residing with stating that you are living with them, their contact number AND proof of address from the family you are living with)
• Transcripts/Academic records
Name and address of student’s previous school to request academic records
NOTE: Enrollment can’t be complete without transcripts. MHS encourages parents/guardians to provide records this will expedite the enrollment process.
• If student has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for special education services, a copy of the current/latest plan is needed.
IMPORTANT
Once the New student Registration form has been successfully submitted and student records & documentation have been received and processed the parent/guardian will receive a call from the Counseling department to schedule a schedule pick up or an appointment with the counselor if necessary.
*Please allow time for your records to be received and processed, once we request the records from the previous school,
the waiting time depends on the previous school to send the records and our data entry.

Peak Education
We are excited to announce that Mitchell High School and Peak Education have solidified our partnership. Peak Education will work with two cohorts at Mitchell HS. Incoming 9th graders and 10th graders. Please review the flyer below. The minimum qualifications are listed in the flyer below with one exception, the minimum GPA for consideration is 2.7 or higher. Earn Free College Credits with CLEP
This is an excellent opportunity for students to earn free credits that will transfer to over 2,900 colleges, demonstrate college and career readiness for graduation requirements, and get a head start on making the most out of The Mitchell Promise Pikes Peak State College Scholarship. Mitchell students have so far earned 111 more credits with CLEP, bringing our running total to 285. This has saved MHS families $76,964.00 in tuition. Our pass rate remains 100%. Go Marauders!!!

Student Life
Extracurricular activities provide a channel for reinforcing the lessons learned in the classroom, offering students the opportunity to apply academic skills in a real-world context, and are thus considered part of a well-rounded education. Recent research suggests that participation in extracurricular activities may increase students' sense of engagement or attachment to their school, and thereby decrease the likelihood of school failure and dropping out. All January student involvement will be celebrated in this issue.
United Way Food Distribution
Hello Mitchell Marauders,
We had another hugely successful food distribution on July 20th. We served around 350 families and gave away every bit of food. As usual, the Mitchell students (and staff!! 😊)were an amazing asset to the operation. I wanted to share two quick things! First, we have watched these students really take ownership and responsibility of the distribution, particularly the walk up table. They consistently show compassion for the community, as well as leadership, initiative and hard work. You should be very proud. They are incredible young adults!
Second, a quick story about a young man from Mitchell. We got several cakes in our delivery yesterday and he asked Marsha, one of our favorite volunteers, to ask each guest if they had a birthday that week. Whenever someone would reply “yes”, he would run over and select a cake for them. The guest in said “Well, it’s not for me, its for her” and pointed to her daughter who was turning 12 this week. His desire to make sure that everyone had a birthday cake was truly touching, especially for that sweet girl who might have gone without otherwise.
Thank you for trusting us. We can see the difference this is making and I hope you know what a great need you are helping us fill!
