BACK TO SCHOOL - August 2, 2024
A Word from the Head of School
BCS Family,
We are so excited to be stepping into a new school year together! There has been so much that has transpired over the course of the summer that we believe is going to enrich the year ahead. In light of everything, we have begun to focus on this year's central theme to "Rebuild," as a school community.
There is a beautiful imagery found in Isaiah 61 of how there is a hope ahead to see the development of a rebuilt, renewed and restored space and people that would honor the foundational values and purposes God had originally instituted in design for the nation of Israel (Isa. 61:4). Advancing into the story, there are two further truths laid out:
- You must look back to move forward
- The latter glory to come would outweigh the former
This is the position we are holding to this upcoming year. We are grateful for the foundational roots that have been planted at the school's origin, and we want to steward the current season of flourishing our school is in toward the space and position God has lined out for BCS within our community.
We ask that you pray through and join us in asking the question: What are we being invited to rebuild? Personally, spiritually, vocationally, communally, as a family, and as a school, what spaces and areas need to engage in a rebuild?
We look forward to participating in this task with each of you as we witness the latter glory of what's to come.
They will rebuild the ancient ruins;
they will restore the former devastations;
they will renew the ruined cities,
the devastations of many generations.
- Isaiah 61:4
Grace and Peace,

Facebook memories will mess with you. To make it even worse, apps like "Photo" and "Google Photo" now make collages of our kids from when they were tiny. Our time-like our lives-are vapors.
"How to be a Man" by Rick Burgess and Andy Blanks will help us facilitate an intentional time to invest in our relationship both with our sons and with the Lord, ensuring these moments are both influential and memorable. We have the unique opportunity to grow with our sons as we help them prepare for these years of high school and beyond.
The Lord has given you one life. This is the opportunity He has provided to guide our kids through high school. Before we know it, they're moving on to what the Lord has next. Let's make the most of our time now.
Planning Committee Meeting - August 20
We will hold an initial planning committee meeting for both events listed below on August 20th at 3:30pm in the commons. Ariel Lara, Director of Development and Community Relations, will also be available to discuss more about these exciting initiatives at Meet the Teacher Night.
