“God does not try us beyond our strength.
When he sends difficulty, he adds the means of overcoming it.”
~ St. Leonie Aviat
Good Afternoon IHM families,
I hope this rainy weather finds you well and having a quiet week. It is certainly a change and starting to feel like fall! The students are settled in and all routines seem ingrained and are running smoothly!
Last week on Thursday afternoon, we were incredibly honored to be visited by Mother Maria Rita, OSFS, and Sister Maria Theresia, OSFS, from the Oblates motherhouse in France! The students met with Mother and Sister in small groups in the gym and in their classrooms and shared with her what they loved about IHM. She spoke to them (in French) and they were all very respectful and engaged. It really was an overwhelming afternoon and experience for us all. I cannot emphasize enough how proud I was of our students! Mother reiterated how positive and respectful the students were and honored our teachers for all they do. It really was a shining example of the work you do at home in partnership with our faculty here at school that your children shined so brightly.
I wish you all a wonderful week, and happy long weekend!
In faith and gratitude,
Ms. Surine

Here are the details:
Regularly attend Mass (or your place of worship) on Sundays during Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan and ask priest or minister to sign the bulletin indicating your dates of attendance (regularly is defined as 12 out of 16 weeks across the 4 months).
Bring the signed bulletins to Father Jeff in February, and he will arrange a date on the weekend for your family to meet him at McDonalds and he will treat your child to lunch!

Our Daily Bread requires that we follow the casserole recipes with no substitutions. Please deliver frozen and denote the casserole type and date on the foil cover. ODB also accepts store-bought casseroles, e.g., Stouffer's, if you do not have time to cook. We appreciate your willingness to help!

Notes from the Nurse
Covid, Flu, and Respiratory Illness Guidance
IHM will be following CDC guidelines for the 2024-2025 school year on respiratory illness, such as COVID & the flu.
"The recommendations suggest returning to normal activities/school when, for at least 24 hours, symptoms are improving overall, and if a fever was present, it has been gone without use of a fever-reducing medication for 24 hours.
Once people resume normal activities, they are encouraged to take additional prevention strategies for the next 5 days to curb disease spread, such as taking more steps for cleaner air, enhancing hygiene practices, wearing a well-fitting mask, keeping a distance from others, and/or getting tested for respiratory viruses."

Over the Counter Medication at School
For those who have filled out the form for your child to receive over the counter medications at school if necessary, please drop off those medications to the nurse either before or after school. The school does NOT provide medication.
Please double check if you have filled out an over the counter medication form for your child. This form must be filled out by parents AND the pediatrician to administer even a cough drop.
