St.Anthony of Padua Catholic School
January 17, 2025 - Volume 5; Issue 21
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we reflect on Dr. King’s powerful legacy of courage, compassion, and commitment to justice. His leadership in the Civil Rights Movement reminds us of the importance of equality, kindness, and standing up for what is right. Let us honor his vision by striving to treat one another with love and respect every day.
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”
– Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Life Skill of the Week
Our Life Skill for this week will focus on "Tolerance: recognize and respect the opinions, practices, or behaviors of others." As a Culturally Aware/Global Citizen we are called to recognize that everyone is equal in God's eyes. This means we strive to constantly and genuinely demonstrate an appreciation and acceptance of diversity. This week, as we observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – we will focus on his dream of a world more tolerant than the one he lived in. We know that intolerant behavior can led to discrimination, prejudices, and a “closed mind.” This week, open yourself up to the thoughts and ideas of others!
