Westfield families:
Report cards came home in backpacks yesterday, so if you didn't see your child's, please check the red home folder.
Don't forget that we only have two days of school next week. The building will be closed Wednesday through Friday. We will see you back on Monday, December 2.
As we approach Thanksgiving next week, I am thankful for the wonderful support from Westfield families. We are blessed with a terrific school community!

All schools closed November 27-29 for Thanksgiving break
All CCSD 89 schools will be closed from Wednesday, November 27 through Friday, November 29, for Thanksgiving break. The district office will be closed on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29.
All schools and the district office will re-open on a normal schedule on Monday, December 2.
Gratitude Awards
Our Character Strong trait of the month for November was gratitude. This morning we recognized students who demonstrated gratitude throughout the month. Students were called to the office during morning announcements to receive a certificate and a prize. We are proud of them!
Parent Series: Reduce parent burnout and raise competent kids (December 4)
At noon and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, author and psychologist Dr. Emily Edlynn will discuss a science-based parenting framework called “autonomy-supportive parenting” that can help parents encourage children’s confidence and autonomy while maintaining boundaries. Parent Series: Find your future at college night (December 5)
At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, professor Timothy Fields will share information to help families navigate career and college planning. Holiday toy drive
The Glen Ellyn Junior Women's Club is conducting a toy drive to collect new, unwrapped toys to be distributed to kids in Districts 89 & 41 this holiday season. If you are interested in making a donation, there is a collection box in the vestibule at Westfield's main entrance where you can leave new, unwrapped toys for collection. Bingo night thank you
PTC would like to thank Chris Reavis for organizing the family bingo night and recognize volunteers Amy and Morgan Flores and Adam and Erin Blott for helping with the event. The kids had a great time!
Movie night - December 6
PTC will be hosting a movie night featuring Moana on December 6 from 6:-8 p.m. Look for a paper copy of the flier in your child's backpack or see the one below.
Spirit wear stickers & magnets now available
PTC has magnets & stickers available for purchase at Westfield's front office. Magnets are $10 and stickers are $3. Shirts and sweatshirts will be on sale at PTC sponsored events.
