VOLUME 7 - NOVEMBER 15, 2024
Dear Owl Families,
As we approach the season of gratitude, we’re inviting families to recognize the educators who make a difference in their child’s life every day. If there’s a teacher, staff member, or anyone at Riverside School who has gone above and beyond to support your child, please take a moment to share your gratitude! Simply fill out our short form, and we’ll pass your messages along to the educators. Your words of appreciation not only lift spirits, but also remind our team of the positive impact they have on our community. Let's celebrate the dedication and care that make Riverside such a special place to learn and grow!
With Gratitude,
Ms. Kama-Starr and Mr. Cohen

RIVERSIDE -2- RIVERSIDE GIVING TREE
The Riverside-2-Riverside Giving Tree event will be back for its 7th year. For those of you new to Riverside, our Giving Tree event is an opportunity for our school community to come together to support some of our Owl families.
As a staff, we will identify approximately 40 scholars to support. We provide each scholar with a casual outfit, hooded sweatshirt, pajamas, boots/sneakers, underwear, socks, hat, gloves, scarf, and a toy or gift card. In fact, over the course of the next week or so we will be contacting the families that have been selected.
Our goal each year is to take a few items off a family's holiday wish list so that they may focus on other important expenses.
We are currently working to develop partnerships, like the one we have established with Boss Chick N' Beer. Each year they have helped us by sponsoring a number of scholars.
Interested in donating? Please be on the lookout for more information beginning the week of November 25th.
If you have questions please do not hesitate to reach out to Ms. Kama-Starr or Ms. Davis.
Here's to a magical holiday season!

THANKSGIVING PARADE
CALLING ALL PARADE SPECTATORS.
Please join us on Tuesday, November 26th at 2:30 for Riverside's 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade! Riverside scholars and educators have been hard at work making wagon floats and planning performances to celebrate in our annual parade. Families are asked to bring non perishable food items to be donated to the food bank to help struggling families this holiday season. We will have special helpers walking around to collect these items.
Our goal this year is to have the parade route outside around the school building as we will be joined by some members of the community as well. If mother nature does not cooperate we will plan for an indoor route as well like we did last year. Please check Dojo in the coming weeks for more information as we are able to better predict the weather. We can't wait to see you there!

PTC CORNER
RIVERSIDE SWAG SHOP
We are opening a Riverside Swag Shop. We will keep it open all year and new items will be added throughout the year. If you have suggestions, please reach out to Ms. Kama-Starr, Mr. Cohen, or Ms. Davis. Please note this is not a fundraiser. We are simply offering this because families have asked about purchasing Riverside items. As items are ordered they will be printed and mailed directly to your home.

ATTENDANCE
- Please call the office (216-838-6700) if your child will not be at school.
- Scholars are tardy after 9:35AM.
- Scholars will not be released early from school without the office receiving communication and consent from a family member in advance. We also ask that scholars are not picked up between 3:00PM - 4:05PM. This is to support our preparations for dismissal.
SCHOOL MISSION
