Principal's Kōrero
Kia Ora Koutou
It was wonderful to see such a fantastic turnout for our cross-country run last Thursday. A special mention goes out to all the parents and Whanau who joined their children for a run. It's heartening to see families participating together in such a fun and healthy activity.
Over the past week, we've been amazed by the incredible school speeches delivered by our students. Their confidence, creativity, and passion have been inspiring. Yesterday, we were filled with immense pride as we watched our Kapa Haka group take the stage. Their performance was truly outstanding, and I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Whaea Donna, Whaea Mel, and Matua Kareena and anyone else that helped for their tireless efforts in guiding and supporting our tamariki.
As we welcome the spring season, we can look forward to longer afternoons and the beauty of blooming flowers. Let's embrace the warmth and vibrancy that this time of year brings.
Nga mihi
Phillip Reade
Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori Week
Kia ora whānau, Next week, week 9 is Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori week. To celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori week at school we are going to have our Kapa haka roopu/groups perform some of their waiata they have been learning with Matua Kingi. Nau mai, haere mai.
You are welcome to come along and see the tamariki perform. This will be on Wednesday 18th September at 12.15pm in Te Moa our school hall.
TE HUIHUINGA O NGĀ TĀTARAKIHI FESTIVAL 2024 Te Kura o Te Kohanga Moa/Inglewood Primary School
On Thursday our Kapa Haka performing Roopu had the opportunity to represent our kura and their whanau at Te Tatarakihi 2024. It was at Owae Marae where we got to perform with lots of other hardworking amazing school groups. It was a beautiful learning opportunity for our tamariki to be able to perform in front of a large audience and their whanau. Then we also got to appreciate and learn from other tamariki their age and younger. A huge thank you to all of those who helped our tamariki in their journey.

NZ Fresh Aire Challenge
Over the next two weeks we are participating it the NZ Fresh Air Challenge.
Each day our whānau leaders will go around the classes and record how they came to and from school. The idea is have as many children as we can arrive at school safely and having biked, walked, or scooted to school.
While the car is a must for some who live a bit further away, children can always be dropped off down the street so they may walk a portion of the way to participate in the challenge.
Enjoy the spring fresh air too whānau!!
