Drop off
Starting this school year, drop-off time has been adjusted to 7:45 AM. Please note that students should not arrive before this time unless they are participating in a morning club, as supervision will begin promptly at 7:45. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a smooth start to each school day!
Upcoming Events
Aug. 26 - First day of morning weights
Aug. 26 - First day of walking club
Aug. 27 - Fall sports picture day during practice
Knickrehm Morning Bus
To help accommodate the large number of students taking the Knickrehm bus in the mornings, starting tomorrow there will be a 6th grade route that leaves Knickrehm at 7:10 am. It will drop students off at Westridge and return to Knickrehm at approximately 7:40 am to pick up 7th and 8th grade students. If a 7th or 8th grader has a 6th grade sibling and wants to ride the earlier bus they are welcome to. Unfortunately, 6th grade students will not be able to ride the 7th and 8th grade bus as we do not anticipate there being room.
If you have any questions please contact the main office at (308) 385-5886.
Make-up picture day
Westridge will have a make-up picture day on Aug. 27th. This is only for students that were absent on 8/17 and is not re-takes. Re-takes will take place in September.
Walking Club
Walking club will start on Monday at 7:30 am. Students may enter at door 1 and go to the gym to get their blood flowing with some morning walking. As they enter the gym, students should place their belongings on the bottom row of the bleachers and then may walk with their friends around the exterior of the gym. Because it is Walking Club, all students in the gym will be required to participate and walk. Any student choosing not to participate in the club will kindly be asked to wait outside until the building opens at 7:45 am.
Mission Moment - Every Student, Every Day, A Success!
Did you know that you can grow and shrink a marshmallow if you put it in a syringe? You can thanks to air pressure! Ms. Stephen's Think Like A Scientist class learned all about it.
Please note that the doors will only be open for morning weights from 6:15 until 6:30. Students arriving after 6:30 will be unable to get into the building.
PTO Spirit Wear
Student IDs
Students will receive an ID on the first day of school and are required to have a student ID visible on their upper body at all times when they are in the building. They will need to exchange that temporary ID for their permanent ID approximately 1 week after school pictures are taken. If a student forgets their ID they may purchase a temporary sticker ID in the main office for $1. Students may also purchase a new lanyard in the main office for $1. If a student loses their ID they may purchase a new ID and lanyard for $5 in the main office.
Dress for Success Guidelines
To help ensure we maintain a positive momentum at Westridge, we wanted to share a friendly reminder about the “Dress for Success” district dress code.
Your students deserve to be confident AND prepared while at school. Part of those preparation efforts include dress code.
Apparel must comply with health and safety codes and not detract from learning.
For all students, mid-thigh to top of chest are to be covered while also concealing undergarments.
Approved religious attire or protective headwraps are approved. At this time, due to safety - hoods, caps, bandanas, durags, etc. are not approved to wear while in school buildings.
IDs must be worn and be visible at all times.
Feel free to explore the full dress code policy on the district website HERE and our handy “Dress for Success” flyers in English and Spanish.
