Last week a flyer was sent home with all 3rd through 5th grade students about the PATHS Program offered through our partnership with NHC Community Justice Services Youth Empowerment Division.
The program is based on the principle that understanding and regulating emotions are central to effective problem-solving. PATHS is a prevention and intervention program that targets five major conceptual domains: (1) self-control; (2) emotional understanding; (3) positive self-esteem; (4) relationships; and (5) interpersonal problem-solving skills.
Please understand that this is not a requirement. It is offered to all 3rd-5th graders upon parental consent to participate. In the event that you would like your child to participate, please sign and return the consent form. Otherwise, please disregard.
Students participating in this program will meet on Friday's during WIN time, Friday Specials block.
If you would like your child to participate please click the link below to sign them up. Classes will begin on Friday, September 29th for Session 1. Session 1 will run for 6 weeks.
Parent Rep Needed For District Committee!
Parents/Guardians, the district has asked each school to have a parent representative to serve on the NHCS Family Advisory Council.
The purpose of this group will be to review the Parent and Family Engagement Policy to ensure it is still meeting the needs of our families, look at district data to identify needs, and provide input on how we can best align our federal funds to meet these needs. Translators will be provided.
The NHCS Family Advisory Council will meet 4 times these year for 1 hour each meeting, with the first meeting taking place in October. The meetings will begin at 8:30am .
IF YOU ARE INTEREST, please email Ms. Faison at michelle.faison@nhcs.net
