Hello NOHS Families,
Welcome to a new school year at NOHS. I am excited to serve as your building principal this year along with our HS administrative staff...

Here are a couple reminders prior to the start of school. Student schedules will be available in PowerSchool 8/15/24 by the end of the day. We are currently in the process of making minor tweaks to student schedules in order to balance class periods and appropriately place students. These adjustments will take place up until the first day of school. The schedule that is in PowerSchool on our first day (8/22/24) will be the most updated and accurate. In order to efficiently manage our Commons/Cafeteria during the lunch periods our Freshman and Sophomores will have a 25min lunch and a 25 min study hall. Juniors and Seniors will have a 50 min lunch period.
A reminder to those students who will be driving to school. PowerSchool info will need to be updated and a parking permit application completed. The HS has plenty of student parking so please do not park in the designated staff areas as there will be school consequences and the possibility of vehicles being towed.
As with previous years, students are permitted to use their phones in the building before/after school, lunch, study hall and in the halls during passing times between classes. Students are not permitted to use their phones during instructional class periods.
Our bell schedule is outlined in the link below. Students are expected to be in class at 8am and leave the building by 3:25pm unless they are involved with an afterschool activity or attending PM SOAR with a teacher.
We will hold class meetings the first week of school to answer student questions and review/explain expectations.

BUS INFORMATION
Buses pick up and drop off in front of the PAC
AM bus leaves at 7:05am this year
PM bus leaves at 10:35am
Calamity Days
When North Olmsted has a calamity day all transportation for the district is canceled, therefore there will not be a bus to or from Polaris if they are still in session. Students will be excused from Polaris for the day if they are not able to get their own transportation to and from Polaris.
Polaris days off schedule for the rest of the year.
