St Elizabeth's News
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 1 | 6 FEBRUARY 2025
Welcome to the 2025 school year, what an incredible start we’ve had! The first day of school is always a highlight for me, as I get to warmly welcome back our students and parents. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces! A special welcome to our new families joining the St Elizabeth’s community, as well as our new staff, we’re thrilled to have you with us!
As we begin the new school year, it's a great time to remind everyone about parking around the school grounds. Please be mindful of nearby residents' driveways when parking on the streets and follow the guidelines set by the City of Wanneroo. I also encourage parents of students in Year Three to Six to use the Kiss and Drive option for pickup, helping to free up parking spaces for families in the Early Years to collect their children from the classroom. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
We also encourage parents to support their children in developing independence, particularly from Year Three onwards. This includes carrying and unpacking their own bags and setting up their workspaces independently each morning. To foster this independence, we ask that parents of Year Three to Six students refrain from entering classrooms in the mornings unless absolutely necessary. If you need to have a detailed conversation with your child’s teacher, we recommend scheduling a time after school when they can give you their full attention. Mornings are dedicated to settling students and preparing for a productive day of learning. Thank you for your support!
Finally, a reminder that staff work under the Catholic School Teachers Enterprise Bargaining Agreement, which outlines a number of processes that as a school we need to follow. Therefore, staff have been instructed not to respond to emails or Seesaw messages prior to 7:30am and after 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Additionally, staff need to enjoy their weekends and spend time with their own family, therefore they will not be responding over the weekends. Please allow staff to respond to any correspondence within 48 hours. Exceptions can be made if the matter is of absolute urgency. Thank you in advance for respecting the right of staff to develop a positive work/life balance.
As we conclude our first week together, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to our staff for their dedication and hard work in ensuring a smooth start to the year, despite the extreme heat. The beginning of a new school year always comes with its challenges, but our students have transitioned wonderfully, and I appreciate everyone’s efforts in making it a success.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
God bless

Updated Term 1 Parent Planner
I want to take a moment to thank every one of you for making me feel so welcomed. It has been great to be greeted by so many smiling and happy faces this week.
I’ve included some important information and reminders. Please take a moment to read through the updates below.
Student Code of Conduct
Our students’ well-being and success are at the heart of everything we do, which is why I have attached the Student Code of Conduct for you to review with your child. This document outlines expectations for behaviour and will help guide our students in making positive choices. We encourage you to go through this with your child at home, as it will support their understanding of how we all work together to create a safe and respectful environment.
NAPLAN Information for Year 3 & 5 Parents
I’d like to remind Year 3 and 5 parents that there will be a NAPLAN flyer sent home. This flyer contains important information, so please make sure to read it carefully. NAPLAN is an important part of the school year, and we want to ensure everyone is well informed.
Year 6 Camp Information
To our Year 6 parents: information about the Year 6 camp will be shared after the Parent Information Night. We’re excited about the adventures ahead for our Year 6s and look forward to sharing more details soon.
Student Council Selections
In the coming week, teachers will be selecting two students from each year group (Years 1 - 6) to represent their peers on the Student Council for Semester 1. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to have a voice in decisions and contribute to school life. We’re excited to see the enthusiasm and ideas our students will bring to the council!
Whole School Mass – Friday 7 February
Our Whole School Mass is on Wednesday, 7 February at 9:00 AM, held at St Anthony’s Church in Wanneroo. After Mass the student leader badges, and the Year 6 leaders will be blessed. It’s a special way for us to come together as a school community to celebrate the start of the year. If you are free it would be great to see you there.
Thank you again for your warm welcome. God Bless!
