Second grade has planted our Pollinator Pod! It is located next to A-pod outside by the trees. We planted 14 plants that are native to Bucks County, PA. Some of them include mint, joe weed, and milkweed. Mint helps to deter deer that might want to eat the plants. The joe weed and milkweed are for pollinators. Pollinators are insects and small animals that help spread pollen from plant to plant. The pollen helps create new plants. We are excited to watch our pod grow and see what bugs we can attract! Feel free to check it out!

Book Club - Superkids Reader Edition
Students picked colored bracelets (pink, green, blue) out of a bag to see which book they were going to read, review & discuss. The book titles were "The Turtle Who Wanted To Fly", "It's A Robot!" and "Extreme Sports". They could choose to read the actual book or listen to it through the Superkids portal. After reading or listening to the story they had to fill out a readers response form to turn in. Finally, they met with their fellow classmates that had the same-colored bracelets to discuss the book.
Lunch Time!
Tawanka Kindergarten Friends are delighted to dine in the cafeteria for the first time this past week. They were respectful, responsible, and safe. Such awesome Empowered Eagles!
Some of our kindergarteners took advantage of the beautiful day to draw a landscape. They observed their surroundings and drew what they saw!
