The Monarch Messenger

WE NEED YOUR HELP as a parent participant! Parent participation at the high school level is always a delicate balance. I know parents want to be included and involved, but often don’t have the time or feel like there are limited avenues to participate. Something we could use specific parent involvement with is our School (SAC) and District (DAC) Accountability Committees. Our SAC meets at Monarch and discusses relevant school issues ranging from operations, academics, assessments, improvement planning, budget, etc. The DAC meets at the BVSD Education Center and involves all BVSD schools discussing similar topics.

MHS currently need a DAC representative. We are looking for someone who wants to attend these meetings to represent MHS.

Please email Principal Greg Doan at gregory.doan@bvsd.org with any interest in serving on either the SAC or being the DAC representative. You will be added to the list of participants from last year and invited to our meetings (once a month, in the evenings).

These are Colorado Department of Education mandated systems and we could use all the feedback and participation we can get. You can find out more from the CDE website about the required committees (click here).

**REMINDER-DON'T BE A PART OF THE PROBLEM**

• THE HOSPITAL AND MEDICAL OFFICE PARKING LOTS ARE PRIVATE PROPERTY AND CANNOT BE USED TO PICK UP OR DROP OFF STUDENTS. STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PARK IN THOSE LOTS AND THEY WILL BE TOWED.

• PARKING LOTS ARE NOT DROP OFF/PICK UP ZONES-For the safety of our students and staff, please do not pull into a parking lot or administrator parking to drop off or pick up students.

• STUDENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO PARK IN STAFF PARKING SPACES (Staff parking spaces are the yellow, numbered spaces)

• STUDENTS SHOULD BE DROPPED OFF IN THE RIGHT LANE ONLY AND EXIT ON THE SIDEWALK SIDE OF THE CAR.

• PULL ALL THE WAY FORWARD TO DROP OFF YOUR STUDENT.

• PLEASE REMEBER-ALL OF CAMPUS DRIVE IS 20 MPH.

Boulder Valley School District's Grad Plus framework was developed with the belief that every student should graduate from high school with more than just a diploma.
