1:1 for MC Students
Using Technology to Transform Learning
Why Have a 1:1 Program?
At Manheim Central, we believe that it is the mission of our school district to "Prepare Responsible Citizens Who Are Lifelong Learners." It is essential, as educators, that we enable our students to be successful in the world they will enter when they leave the district to pursue higher education or enter the workforce. Having a one-to-one Digital Learning Program supports this mission. The district has a one-to-one laptop program for all students in grades 5 through 12, where each student has a laptop to use throughout the day and to take home. In addition, we are also one-to-one at the elementary level with ipads in grades Pre-K thtough 4.
Goals of the program include:
1. To expand technology access to all students in support of their education.
2. To have each student actively engaged in independent and collaborative 21st Century Learning.
3. To individualize instruction by providing teachers and students with the resources necessary to allow for greater differentiation and the ability to explore new ideas and solutions.
