Officer Friendly Day
Our friends at U of M Flint have shared this info on Officer Friendly Day and we wanted to share it with our families!
We are excited to invite you to our annual Officer Friendly Day event at the University of Michigan-Flint on April 26th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.! This event is for autistic individuals, along with their families, friends, and allies. It’s a chance to promote inclusion, understanding, and positive relationships with law enforcement officers.
Officer Friendly Day is a great opportunity to connect with police officers before an emergency happens, and to ask any questions about safety. The event is for children, teens, and adults with autism. There will be free food, lots of police vehicles to check out, fun activities to explore, virtual reality experiences, and even simulated traffic stop experiences where you can practice how to stay safe during a traffic stop.
Check out the flyer attached for more details and to RSVP. You can also RSVP by clicking this link: go.umflint.edu/OfficerFriendlyDay2025.
New Skills in February and March!
The Tree of Possibilities is more than just a logo at Strive Center! We celebrate all the little victories - for every new skill a child learns, we give him a leaf or an apple sticker to put on his very own Tree of Possibilities poster. We keep one poster here at the center, next to his table, and one goes home, so families can celebrate all the little victories too. In February, our learners acquired 305 new skills and in March they acquired 451 new skills! That brings our total for this year to 1,002 new skills! What a great start to the year with your great kids!
Additional Pet Visits Have Been a Huge Success!
