Re: Holiday Music Program Dress Code
Dear Parents and Teachers,
As you already know, the Holiday Music Program is rapidly approaching. WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 18TH, to be exact! We have been working very hard to get ready and can’t wait to show you what we’ve learned. That being said, I wanted to address the question of what the students should wear. On the day of the concert, students should wear their clothes for the program to school in the morning. I ask that you have the children wear something nice that day.
Redwood Choir: If your child is a member of the Redwood Choir, our uniform of all black on the bottom and all white on the top is what they should wear to school that day.
All: If possible, no sneakers or jeans. You don’t have to go out and buy something new just for this occasion, although you are welcomed to if you choose. They don’t have to wear any specific colors or styles of clothes. I just want them to look polished for their program.
Some examples of what I am looking for that day are:
“Christmas” dresses, suits, dress pants, nice shirts, Christmas sweaters – anything nicer than what they might wear regularly to school! J
Please, NO Santa hats, large headbands, no light up glasses, neckties, sweaters, etc.– we want ALL students to be seen by their parents and look polished for our performance!
Lastly, I would like to remind everyone of our program schedule. Your child will sing only ONCE on Wednesday, December 18th. The gymnasium will be cleared after each performance.
9:15-9:45 ~ Redwood Choir; 3rd Grade; 4th Grade
10:45-11:15 ~ Redwood Choir and 2nd Grade
1:45-2:15~ All Day Kindergarten, PM Kindergarten and 1stGrade
As always, please feel free to contact me regarding any questions. I’m looking forward to seeing you at the program and until then, have a Happy Holiday Season!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Cyndi Orr
Redwood Music Teacher
Parking Spots Near Playground
As safety is always a top priority for our students and families we are constantly looking to correct potential concerns. It has been brought to our attention that it is now becoming an issue with parents entering the parking lot through the east (exit only) drive nearest the playground in order to park. This is a potential hazard as this is the exit for busses and parents transporting their students by car. In order to maintain a safe environment if you are going to park in the spots near the playground you must enter the through the west drive proceed past the building and then enter the parking area. Thank you for your help in this matter and in keeping our Redwood families safe.

Notes From the Nurse
Notes from the Nurse:
It’s cold and flu season, which means viruses are on the rise! We have been made aware of multiple confirmed cases of pneumonia in the past few weeks. Nursing wanted to take the time to send home a few reminders for school attendance and what to be looking out for. If your child has a continuous or disruptive cough, please keep them home. Good health habits like covering your cough and washing your hands often can help stop the spread of germs and prevent respiratory illnesses from spreading in the classroom. If your child has a fever above 100 F by mouth, please keep them home for 24 hours. Students need to be fever free without the use of medication (Tylenol, Advil, Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen)for 24 hours before returning to school. If your child continues to be sick, please reach out to your pediatrician for further guidance. Our goal is to keep everyone as healthy as possible, we thank you for your cooperation at home as well.
