AVHS Student Leaders
This week, we had the honor of having a panel of AVHS student leaders present to our 5th grade students. The panel represented students from grades 9-12 who are leaders in athletics, arts, and academics. This has become one of our favorite annual events! The high school students gave advice on making good choices, getting involved in activities, being respectful, making positive choices online, and having a friend group that supports your passions. They also emphasized that when in high school, you are a student-athlete, not an athlete-student. We love our partnerships with Apple Valley High School and Valley Middle School of STEM.

196 FOUNDATION FLOCKING FUNDRAISER
Show your school spirit by voting for your favorite District 196 Schools during the School Spirit Blitz happening from April 22nd – May 3rd! Winning schools will be “flocked” with “We Love our District 196 Teachers” signs at the start of Teacher Appreciation Week. Each $5 vote is a donation to the District 196 Foundation which is the only charitable entity dedicated to eliminating barriers to learning across the entire school district. Your “vote” will not only show love for your favorite schools, but it will also help over 700 students have consistent access to food on the weekend, provide age-appropriate books in the summer for 2,500 students, and ensure every student who wants to participate in band is able to do so. Vote today! https://www.district196foundation.org/flocking
