THINGS TO KNOW AND DO
Textbook Return Information
I’m sending out a heads up that from May 28th until May 31st students will be returning their textbooks. Before turning in the textbooks could you please wipe with a damp cloth the front, back and spine of the books.
Tuesday, May 28th, 2024 will be 8TH GRADE.
Thursday, May 30th, 2024 will be 7TH GRADE.
Friday, May 3st,2024 will be 6TH GRADE.
A reminder email for each grade level will go out the day before that grade returns their textbooks.
IF THE STUDENT IS STAYING IN THE DISTRICT, THEY KEEP THEIR COMPUTER.

ASB News and Announcements
Hi leopards, we are having our final spirit week this week from 5/20-5/24!
As always, the class with the highest percentage of participation (counting teachers) will earn a prize!
For this week’s Student Spotlight we have 3 people who are caring, compassionate, and super helpful!! Remember to complete the form on your grade’s Google Classroom to nominate your stellar friends!!
If you feel you know someone who has a special talent, a good quality, or almost anything they have done or achieved, feel free to nominate them through the google form in your grade’s google classroom! See you next week!
Ella Rookus 6th grade
Ella was a great teammate and worked so well with her peers! Ella’s favorite part of being on the team was “being the only 6th grader and scoring touchdowns!” Great job, Ella!
Evan Fisher 7th grade
Evan worked well with his team and persevered through the whole season. His favorite part of being on the team was “It was fun.” “I liked winning.” Awesome, Evan!
Caylie Ferreria 8th grade
Caylie was an amazing quarterback and communicated so well with all of her teammates! Her favorite part of being on the team was “meeting new friends and learning new things!” Congratulations, Caylie!
HAGS Grams Sales
Hey Leopards!
This upcoming Monday, 5/20, we will be starting the exciting HAGS grams sales at your student stores! Wish for your friends to Have a Great Summer and send them a gram! You can buy these at the student stores for 50 cents, and you can choose to attach slime, a few stickers, or even a Pop It® keychain! Grams will be on sale from Monday, 5/20- Wednesday, 5/29. We will deliver them to your friend’s 5th period class on Friday, 5/31.

Karaoke Friday Activity
Hi Lewis Leopards!
We are going to do a karaoke friday activity this week, 5/24! You guys will be able to sing your hearts out with your friends. Meet us at your normal Friday activity spot at lunch for a great time. See you there!

End of Year Activity Participation Policy
8thGrade Promotion Ceremony and End of Year Activity Participation Policy:
Students will be ineligible in Lewis Promotion/Activities for any of the following reasons. Final eligibility will be determined on May 28, 2024. Saturday School may be used to clear attendance and tardies;however absences due to suspension cannot be cleared.
● One or More U’s in Citizenship
● 3 or more suspensions in school or formal combined in the 2023-2024 school year
● 1 or more suspensions during the last grading period
● 10 or more unexcused Tardies combined (T=unexcused tardy, W=Tardy or Leave unexcused more than 30 minutes.
● 10 or more days of unexcused absences or truancy combined. (U=unexcused, Z=truant)
*Students who meet citizenship, and suspension criteria but do not meet attendance requirements may participate in the promotion ceremony but will not participate in 8th grade activities (ie. Bowling and the dance)
6th and 7thth Grade End of Year Activity Participation Policy:

Please check your child’s Power School regularly. The final Saturday School’s for this year are May 4 and May 11. Each Saturday School clears 1 full day +4 tardies.
If you have questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher for the course, and/or your child’s school counselor to assist with calculating eligibility.
From Youth Advocacy Office:
Lewis is a welcoming place for our LGBTQIA+ students. If you would like a gender support plan meeting with your counselor to discuss which restroom and locker room to use, which name and pronouns you’d like used at school, and to find out about additional support at school, please let your counselor know. Lewis has a gender inclusive changing area and a gender inclusive restroom for students that do not feel comfortable in a gendered space.
