Minutos de Sr.a Hutchins
Hello Fronteras Families,
Thank you for a great couple of weeks! Students are down to only 11 days of school and there are so many activities on the calendar! I cannot believe how quickly the school year is passing!
We had a super successful K-2 Spanish Spelling Bee April 26th! Congratulations Liam Jones for taking first place, Sophia Oliver second, and Finlo Linden took third place! We are so proud of all our K-2 participants! Thank you, Sra. Hernandez and Sr. Pantoja for once again organizing a fabulous opportunity to allow our kiddos to shine!
Our lottery for next school year was held the evening of April 30th. Thank you to Associate Superintendent, Robyn Harris, for drawing the names for new incoming students as well as those on grade level waitlists. Thank you, APC Chair, Kirsten Mason, for recording names as they were drawn.
Congratulations to our new Student Ambassadors, Scarlett Wood and Bella Atkinson! All applicants shined during their interview Wednesday morning; it was a very difficult decision for the committee. I’m sorry I won’t have the opportunity to work with Scarlett and Bella, but I am confident they will do an amazing job representing Fronteras beautifully! It has been a sincere pleasure working with this year’s Ambassadors, Mia and Reagan. They were eloquent when they spoke publicly, flexible with their schedules, and they generated wonderful ideas for the Ambassador program’s continued success.
Activities still to come:
· Spring Musical May 9th @ 1pm
· Spring Musical May 10th @ 8:30am
· Kinder & 1st grade Wonderland Park Picnic May 10th from 10-2pm
· Kindergarten Graduation May 14th @ 1pm
· 8th grade Promotion May 15th @ 1pm
· MVFCU Middle School Financial Fair May 16th
· Field Day May 17th begins @ 9am
· Last Day for Students is May 20th!
Wishing everyone a fabulous weekend!
“Wherever you go, no matter the weather, always bring your own sunshine.”
Most Sincerely,
Sra. Hutchins

Ski for Kids Equipment Grant!
We are thrilled to announce that our PE program has been awarded one of the Ski 4 Kids Equipment Grants by the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage (NSAA) to purchase more ski boots for our students! This incredible grant will make a world of difference for our young skiers, ensuring they have the right size boots for a safer and more enjoyable skiing experience. We extend our deepest gratitude to NSAA for their generosity and commitment to promoting winter sports and healthy lifestyles among our youth. With their support, we can provide our students with the proper equipment they need to thrive on the trails! But wait, there's more! We're doubly excited to share that our amazing APC Board has stepped up to the plate and matched the grant, doubling our purchasing power! Thank you, APC Board! Together, with the support of NSAA and our APC Board, we're expanding our ski program!
Please take the time to visit the NSAA website and all the great Nordic skiing opportunities they have for kids and families, such as the AMH Anchorage Cup races or the annual Ski 4 Kids event, most of these events are free for kids! https://anchoragenordicski.com/
