Connectiveness - Message from Monica Weaver, Social Worker
Giving attention to our children is not the same as making a connection with them.
Engage your child in play. Take them outside for a walk. Fire-up their senses...what do they see, smell, hear, feel? These activities teach us to be present in our lives and are great for reducing anxiety and depression in ourselves and our children. Talk to them about what you see, hear, smell, and feel. Recognize similarities and differences. Talk about your childhood experiences and see how they differ from their own. Listen for anything that your child may indicate is a source of stress for them and talk it through. Connect with them at their level because their world is not the same world we experienced as children. See it through their eyes and your level of understanding and their level of connectiveness to you will grow.

Families Survey (CVVA class only)
Dear Parents of CVVA students,
Now that students have been involved in remote learning for some time, we’re interested in finding out how your students in grades K-5 feel about the experience. We’re implementing a survey to gather input from students about the difficulty or ease of completing their assignments, whether they have everything they need, and how we might be able to help them more. Please help us gather this information by encouraging your student to complete the survey. You can explain the questions or help them think through their answers if they need help. Your child’s answers will be confidential—we’re not tracking students’ responses by name.
Please let us know if you have any questions. You can find the survey https://eprovesurveys.advanc-ed.org/surveys/#/action/148220/24091 here.
Thank you so much for all you have been doing and continue to do to support your student's education.
Sincerely,
Your CVE School Improvement Team

It's That Easy - Virtual Meeting for Parents
Sign up for “It’s that easy” to talk to your children. Register by November 17, 2020.
Parents count on their school to provide important information about puberty and relationships through our health curriculum. Times are different right now and some of these important lessons may be shortened or even postponed due to COVID-19.
Chippewa Valley Schools invites you to a community conversation on talking to your child about sexual health and development. You can start these conversations as soon as you are ready and we are here to help you!!

SACC
Hello SACC parents!
Please note that registration for the CVE SACC program is now available online. The registration fee is $20 per child and the hourly rate is now $5 per hour. Please be as specific as possible with your students SACC schedule as we will be closely monitoring ratios at this time.
There may be need for a waitlist if a section is full. Parents will be entering the building only to sign in their students at the SACC doors and student temperatures will be taken at that time. MASKS ARE REQUIRED for entry.
As always, if you have an outstanding balance from last school year, that must be paid in full in order to gain access to the program.
The SACC program will begin at CVE Monday 10/26/20. Please contact Becky Koch at rkoch@cvs.k12.mi.us with any questions or concerns.
New Lunch Procedures Starting on November 9th - Please Share with your Families on you Social Media
- The students will be able to order doubles during lunch for $1.50.
- Students can also buy snacks at lunchtime. Below is a list of snacks with their prices for each item. You can load money on the account by going to http://www.sendmoneytoschool.com/ . There will be a charge of a $ 1.50 processing fee for each transaction. Another option would be to send in money in a sealed envelope or a Ziploc bag with the student's and teacher’s name on it.
Our plan is based on these parameters.
