This Week of the School Administrator, we are proud to honor our exceptional School Administrators and their invaluable contributions in fostering student achievement and leading our CVUSD schools to success.
In observance of the importance of educational leadership at the school, school district, and county levels, the California Legislature has designated the second full week in the month of October of each year to be the "Week of the School Administrator." At their Wednesday September 18th meeting, the Board of Education for the Conejo Valley Unified School District adopted Resolution #24/25-09 in Support of "Week of the School Administrator" to be celebrated October 13-19, 2024.
We are so thankful for our school administrators all year through, and we invite the whole Conejo community to join us in celebrating them this week!
Unity Day has been celebrated in the United States and around the world since 2011. It is the most well-known event of National Bullying Prevention Month, sponsored by Pacer's National Bullying Prevention Center. To participate in Unity Day, individuals, schools, communities, and businesses wear or display orange to show support for students who have been bullied, in addition to sending the message that no child should ever experience bullying.
The Conejo community is encouraged to wear orange on October 16th to show their commitment to kindness, acceptance and inclusion! Click here to learn more.
Drop, Cover, and Hold On: The Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill Returns Oct. 17th
At 10:17 a.m. on October 17, 2024, millions of people will “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” in The Great ShakeOut, the world's largest earthquake drill. All CVUSD schools and district offices will be participating in the emergency preparedness drill.
Major earthquakes may happen anywhere you live, work, or travel. The ShakeOut is a good opportunity to practice how to protect ourselves, and for everyone to become prepared to "Drop! Cover! Hold On!"
Safety preparedness is key in the CVUSD!

RISE with the LA Rams: New Partnership Brings Leadership Sessions to the CVUSD
As part of this partnership, all CVUSD eighth grade students and approximately 800+ high school student leaders, participated in a three-part program that focuses on fostering inclusive school communities. In total, the program reached nearly 2,000 students, staff and parents and included leadership sessions on identity, a panel discussion and a football clinic led by the Rams:
Activity & Group Discussion: Understanding Ourselves and Others
Movie Panel & Discussion with LA Rams Staff: Kingfish: The Story of Kenny Washington
Physical Activity with Rams Staff: Empower Youth to Get Physically Active & Encourage a Healthy Lifestyle
Students rotated through all three portions of the programming and had the opportunity to hear from Rams Legends, Rams Cheerleaders and staff. This program included a focus on students understanding who they are and the identities of others, how words and actions directly impact how others feel safe and how we can continue to work together, in a united, effective way to cultivate learning environments where all feel welcome.
This partnership was made possible, in part, thanks to a grant from The Conejo Schools Foundation.
