February 2023
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Teachers will contact parents to set up meetings as needed. If you do not hear from your child's teachers and would like to set up a meeting, please call the office and we will get it scheduled for you.
iLEARN Testing Window
The iLearn test will be given to students from April 18th through April 28th. Please ensure that your child is in school all day on these testing days. Avoiding scheduling appointments during the testing window will be very helpful.
Congratulations to GJH Choir Students!
On January 28th, GJH 9 choir soloists and one ensemble of 6 choir students participate in ISSMA Solo and Ensemble contest at Fairfield Jr./Sr. High School. All students/ensembles performed well and received "Gold" awards. Congratulations to all the choir students who participated!
Attendance Matters!
Students who average 14 absences per year miss nearly an entire year of school by 12th grade. This learning gap can be very difficult to overcome. The learning that takes place in the classrom with teacher support cannot be duplicated when making up work independently.
Talk with your child about the importance of attending school. As students prepare to transition to earning high school credits toward graduation, regular attendance becomes even more critical.
If your child has missed more than 5 days of school this year for reasons other than confirmed illness (such as fever, vomiting, positive Covid test), talk with him/her about a plan to improve attendance. GJH counselors and administrators will be happy to help you with creating that plan!
