Principal's Update #12
January 21, 2024
Message from Mr. Jackson.....
Hello Students, Parents, Guardians and Caregivers,
I hope everyone has had a productive and positive week. We are in the home stretch of semester two with the quarter and semester ending next Friday, 1/26. Students should be finalizing any missing assignments and preparing for any end of unit or semester assessments. Families, please join our staff in encouraging our students through to the finish line. We all want a successful end of semester one and transition to semester two!
Please see the remainder of my update below.

CELEBRATIONS
NAHS Robotics Teams Thrive on Saturday, 1/20
Lightning Strikes Thrice
Mr. Ahearn, Robotics Advisor reported that our Robotics Team A has once again won the triple crown at our most recent Vex Robotics event held at the North Andover High School this Saturday.
All teams have demonstrated high levels of collaboration, inclusion, determination and growth over these past few weeks. NAHS had 6 teams compete in the finals of this tournament. Their kindness and eagerness to aid their younger peers has also resulted in a third North Andover team qualifying for regionals, which takes place on February 26th and 27th.
1,000 Career Varsity Points for Senior, Zach Wolinski
On Friday 1/12, Senior Zach Wolinski eclipsed the 1,000 career point mark in a game at Andover High. Zach was recognized on Friday prior to the 6:30pm home contest against Central Catholic. Congrats to our fan section on receiving the Commonwealth Cup as the top fan section from the Commonwealth Motors Christmas Classic.

We are shaking things up and hosting our NAHS Winter Staff Appreciation at the end of February on 2/28/2024. It is an early afternoon where we will have a coffee/hot chocolate bar with donated baked goods on the early release Wednesday. We are in need of baked goods and help with setup, serving and clean up shifts. (Shifts are 60-90 minutes). If you can provide either treats or doing a shift, we would be very grateful and so will the teachers and staff. Please select the button below to signup to help.
Schedule to Give Midterms/Final for Semester Courses on 1/23, 1/25 & 1/26
Teachers of Full-year courses or Semester courses may choose to give a Midterm or Final exam. Teachers will let your student know if they are going to give a Midterm or Final at the end of the month. Teachers that choose to give a Midterm or Final will use the schedule below. We will offer this schedule by period as we can’t align a schedule by subject due to the dropped class each day. Teachers giving a unit test or other assessment for their course will also plan for these periods at the end of the semester. Please see page one of the Faculty Grading Language: FAQ document for the agreed upon language of Midterms/Finals.

KNIGHTS LOCKER DONATIONS
KNIGHTS LOCKER
Knights Locker is a sibling of Knights Closet at NAMS. The mission and vision of Knights Locker is to provide free clothing & personal hygiene products to any student that has an immediate need. Our vision is to help empower students by providing clothing that will in-turn foster an increased sense of positive self-worth, confidence, and belonging.
In the Spring, we have 3 events at NAHS that require a departure from students' everyday attire: Freshman-Sophomore Semi Formal (March), Junior Prom (April) and Senior Prom (May). To ensure that all students can attend if they choose, we accept formalwear donations. Please consider donating to our current wish list. Please email knightslocker@northandoverpublicschools.com to make arrangements to drop-off of any formalwear.
The Knight's Locker is currently low on a few items and would greatly appreciate any donations. They are specifically looking for leggings, backpacks, face wash and body wash. We do have an Amazon Wish List but would happily accept donations from anywhere.
Thank you so much in advance for your generosity!
