Summer 2024 Math Challenge
All About the Commissioner's Summer 2024 Math Challenge
What is the Summer Math Challenge?
It is important that students keep their math skills sharp so the State of Connecticut is, once again, launching the Commissioner’s Summer Math Challenge for all students in Grades K-12.
Why?
- Being mathematically literate is important.
- Mathematically literate individuals are able to make informed decisions about the world around them and have the interest and confidence to meet the needs and challenges of today’s society.
This FREE Math Challenge is designed to help children retain and practice math skills learned during previous school years.
There are TWO ways that students can participate this summer:
- Khan Academy's Get Ready for Grade Level Courses (for rising Gr. 3 to High School students) AND/OR
- Connecticut's Summer Math Passport (for rising Gr. K-8 students)
Click here (in Spanish) to read a special letter to parents and students about the challenges offered this summer! Then scroll down to learn more about each challenge opportunity.
Once you are finished with one OR both of the challenge opportunities, don't forget to fill out the Summer Math Challenge Participation Log (in Spanish) and share it with your new classroom teacher when you return to school!
