SPS Art Students Partner with the Sandwich Arts Alliance
Wednesday, October 23 marked the opening night celebration of the Student Art Gallery at the Old Town Hall, home of the Sandwich Arts Alliance. During the event, parents, grandparents and community members enjoyed the artwork from students in all three schools across all grades. All work was curated, mounted, and framed by SMHS art students. The gallery is contained within a room of the SAA and is impressive in the quality and diversity of student work! Many thanks to SAA President Kathy Aubin and SMHS Art Teacher Dan Dobbins in making this partnership a reality. Student artwork will be rotated through the gallery on a monthly basis. The gallery is open to the public Tuesday-Saturday from 11:00 am- 4:00 pm.

Smooth Jazz at the Ridge
Wednesday also marked another stellar performance at the Oak Ridge School by the Bart Wesiman Jazz Trio. as part of the Jazz in the Schools Program that was started in 2014. Mr. Weisman is the Founder, Executive Producer & Performer for the Provincetown Jazz Festival. The intent of the program is to expose children to live jazz and participate in a program to learn about jazz history and its many styles. The jazz trio features Bart Weisman of Orleans on drums, with Fred Boyle of South Yarmouth on piano, and Rich Hill of East Falmouth on bass. Fifth and sixth graders were able to enjoy their musical stylings, along with a cameo appearance by Oak Ridge Band Director John Williams. This great opportunity is funded by the non-profit Provincetown Jazz Festival.
