December 8th, 2024
We hope this message finds you well! We had a truly wonderful week back from Thanksgiving break, and it’s clear that our students are already in the holiday spirit. On Friday, we had an incredible time taking pictures with Santa, and our teachers brought joy to the lunchroom with some fun performances for the students.
Looking ahead, this coming week promises to be another busy and exciting one. Our students will be taking the Winter iReady assessment. To help them succeed, please ensure they get enough rest before their scheduled test date and remind them to try their best. This assessment provides us with valuable insights to better support their academic needs and also keeps you informed about their progress.
Additionally, several of our Christmas performances are scheduled for this week. We encourage you to check the schedule and join us in celebrating the season with these special events.
We hope everyone had a great weekend, and we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

This habit means that we manage our time well and prioritize things in our lives. Watch the video about "Big Rocks" below and discuss your family's big rocks. What do you need to put first?

The Reading Rope- Supporting Students with Reading at School and Home📘
Comprehension- Character Traits
Comprehension is the ultimate goal of reading, and ALL parts of the reading rope must be strong before comprehension can occur. This week we are going to look at some ways to practice discussing characters and their traits. Characters in fiction stories have specific traits- physical and personality- that makes them unique to the story. Their traits impact the events of the story based on the character's actions/words. Students make an inference about characters based on 1) what they already know through experiences (background knowledge) and 2) from clues given in the text (words, illustrations, and/or text features).
Questions to Ask Your Students about Characters
