Lincoln Elementary Newsletter
September 2021 Edition
Welcome Back
We would like to personally welcome you back to Lincoln Elementary School. It has been an absolute joy seeing students in the building learning. Our students make Lincoln come to life!
This year we will continue our open communication, collaboration, and celebration of success as we guide students in reaching their full potential. As a staff, we will continue to enrich our curriculum with meaningful and authentic real life learning experiences to challenge our students to be leaders of their own learning. We will also foster strong partnerships between students and host community events for families.
Currently, we have 921 students enrolled at Lincoln! We are so lucky to have each and every one of those students with us! We are so excited for the 2021-2022 school year!
Sincerely,
Shawn Scully & Toni DiFazio
Reminders for Drop off and Dismissal
-Grade K, 1, 2, and 3 students come into the main entrance.
-Grade 4 and 5 students enter through the side entrance.
-Students arriving from a bus are dropped off on the sidewalk in the driveway in front of the school.
-Students that are driven to school by their parents are let out in the designated drop off zone on the same side as the school on Brookville Rd (yellow curb). Students should exit the passenger side only and parents should pull all the way up to the end of the pick-up zone.
-In order to keep the flow of traffic, parents should not exit the car. Please do not park on the other side of Brookville Road.
Dismissal:
-Dismissal time for students is 3:30 p.m. All walkers will be dismissed from the side entrance. Parents should meet these students at the side lot, unless it has been designated by a parent that they may walk home alone.
Thank you for your continued patience to ensure the safety of our school community!
Equity Club!
Educational Equity is:
Raising the achievement of all students, while
Narrowing the gap between the highest and the lowest performing students, and
Eliminating the racial predictability and disproportionality of which student groups occupy the highest and lowest achievement categories.
Our Goals:
To reflect on who we are as individuals and how that impacts our teaching & our students.
To discuss challenges around equity and share culturally responsive teaching practices.
To sustain the importance of equity work throughout everything we do in our classrooms, all year long.
We look forward to the positive impact this club will make to Lincoln!
