Becky grew up in Arvada, CO. She attended the University of Northern Colorado where she earned her Biology degree and Secondary Education license. She taught science in a small high school, Platte Valley High School, in Kersey, CO for four years. During that time she earned her first Masters degree from Grand Canyon University in the Art of Teaching. Upon getting engaged to her now husband, Matt, she moved closer to Denver, where she taught middle school science at Mapleton Expeditionary School of the Arts. In 2014 Becky and Matt moved to Montana, where she accepted a teaching position at Park High School teaching Chemistry and Earth Science. Later she was responsible for collaborating with Gallatin College and bringing Dual Enrollment Human Form and Function to the high school, as well. In 2020 Becky graduated with her second Masters degree from Montana State University in Educational Leadership. She immediately enrolled in her doctoral program following the completion of her Masters. She hopes to be completed with her EdD in educational leadership in May 2025. Becky and Matt have 3 furbabies - Kai, Pippa and Irie. They love spending time with their pets and are very committed to their careers. Matt is the IT director for Bozeman Public Schools. Becky is THRILLED to be joining SGMS next year as Principal! Her love for education and working with students and staff will certainly be a good fit with SGMS!
